    “legitimacy” lol. lmao. I can’t

yeah that’s the problem with politics, leadership not being blood-tied to a long enough line of inbred failsons. we’d for sure respect our leaders’ right to be there if they had that going for them

It has passive legitimacy mechanics. If your prestige is low, your courtiers will dislike you and plot against you and even rebel. Powerful vassals will also disapprove of your requests to change laws. You can be the best king, but you won’t be able to control your children unless they hold land (i.e. switch characters), so if you they grow up to be failsons and faildaughters, once you die your vassals will immediately jump on the wagon to have your new king/queen abdicate or make demands of you with little recourse.

It does now, actually. The other poster isn’t wrong either but it does also literally have a legitimacy bar with levels from 0 to 5.

Unfortunately Trump has primogeniture succession laws enabled so Barron will unlikely see much of his father’s assets aside from passive wealth. Perhaps a minor position at one his current holdings once Barron has enough experience. While Barron will also passively generate prestige on his own by virtue of being of the Trump dynasty, he’ll be overshadowed by his older brothers’ major influence on the realm who will no doubt try to plot against Barron to lower his influence on family affairs.

However, Trump also thinks his two older sons are losers, probably why he had a third son so late in the game because he’s hoping the third one has better genes and personality, and he succeeded as far as we can see. Regardless, he can’t be publicly disowning his loser sons because that would tarnish his reputation and make him seem as a lousy father, but, if Barron were to plot against his older brothers, Donald Trump would most likely support it covertly so his favorite son can ascend to heir without having to damage his legacy.
