“Israel should stop insisting on continuing these massacres and end these inhumane attacks,” President Erdogan told journalists on his return flight from Germany.
“To date, it is Israel that has insisted on attacks and continued massacres. It is Israel that tramples on human rights, and international law,” he added.
Erdogan also expressed concerns over Israel’s regional ambitions, stating: “They (Israeli leaders) threaten Lebanon to relieve themselves. Israel must abandon its intention to spread conflicts in the region.”
Instead of appealing to the humanity of those who have none and “urging” a genocidal entity to willingly halt its genocide, how about you, Turkey, stop doing business with the entity? Maybe that would do a little more than just harsh words? Just a thought.
Unless I am outdated with the information or there is something that I am missing, Turkey did suspended all trade with Israel on May 3, 2024. I welcome any feedback from you in case I am mistaken.
May 5: Turkey reportedly still loading Azerbaijani oil for Israel despite “total trade ban”
May 9: Turkiye renews supply of construction materials to Israel despite trade ban
And i’m sure there’s more that’s happening covertly that we don’t know about.
Capitalists going to capitalist I guess. Morals be damned, there’s profit to be had!
Damn, this is sad to know. Thanks for sharing this!
To be fair, the official “trade ban” wasn’t completely useless. It did reduce the volume, but not to zero unfortunately. But i’m wondering how long they will keep it in place. If i were to bet i’d say probably only until they can memoryhole what is happening in Gaza, or at the most until after the next elections, then they’ll quietly lift it again.
