    I don’t think it’s as famous of a song as you think it is. I didn’t even know he did music. He’s a pretty good pitcher though.

      The baseball player took on the nickname “The Gambler” because of that song - since he shares the name with the singer Kenny Rogers. It’s the only song named “The Gambler” to reach #1 in any billboard charts. It also inspired 4 TV movies and was Kenny Rogers most iconic song.

      Apparently this song by fun was even called The Gambler because the songwriter, Nate Ruess, thought the melody sounded too similar to The Gambler by Kenny Rogers so he redid the melody but kept the name.

        Huh, well I guess we both learned something then. Cheers. Maybe I’ll soon try making an AI Sinatra cover of this “the gambler” by this Ken Rodgers fella.
