As someone who hasn’t missed a single day due to riding my e-bike 9kms to work and once rode it to work through a snowstorm I can sympathize with this.
It’s almost comical how even just a little bit of rain can deter people from taking their bike. On sunny days I sometimes barely have room on the bike paths, but if the weather forecast is even a little bit ominous I almost always have the roads all to myself.
All things being equal sure, but vinyl is a severely outdated audio format that is both a lot more environmentally taxing as well as being a poor medium for music. Both in production and for shipping around the world.
I’ll take CDs over vinyl any day.
CDs for sure but then again I never stopped collecting them. They can be played as is with no loss of audio quality. They are easy to store, and serves as a backup after you have ripped them to a harddrive. So should your hardware fail you can always start over.
There is also a lot of music I might have forgotten about if I only had streamed it, but finding it on my shelf years later gives the music new life again.
Preach. I am so fed up with vinyl. I hope more artist will continue releasing their music on CD instead.
They do, but the routes are rarely optimal for cyclists. Or sometimes technically legal to ride on, but if you know the place in real life you know some of the roads are less than ideal for cyclists.
I just want a map app that understands the dedicated bicycle lanes in my country and does not recommend insane unsafe routes because it assumes I’m in a car. I have tried comaps and organic maps but I always need to like try out the routes myself first to find a good route.
Individual expression like what?
As someone who has lived many years in a similar concrete building, I do not think I will ever truly understand how a basic rectangular building can ever be an “eyesore” as long as they are cleaned and maintained. I like their simplicity and honest brutalist architecture. The rooms are often spacious and very easy to utilize for whatever you want to place in the rooms and have some of the best views in the cities they are in. And best of all: they offer great modern homes for many residents on a comparatively small slab of land unlike traditional houses.
You can use it with the Strawberry music player with some tinkering.
Can you define “win”?
I honestly thought it was good. But the canon ending is still Toy Story 3 in my opinion.
I am situated in Denmark and buy all my movies from laserdisken.dk. While by no means the cheapest option, I like supporting local businesses and doing what I can to incentivize new releases on physical media. They also have excellent support and movie knowledge to help you find what you are looking for.
Those releases he is referring to are definitely bootlegs. He should get his movies from a more respectable outlet instead.
I imagine that he started collecting DVDs because it’s a cheap way to own a physical copy of your favorite shows…
But for the love of god just go hunt for cheap Blu-ray versions instead and leave DVDs in the past.
Unless you, for whatever reason, just must own a specific DVD release because it has otherwise unreleased extra content/commentary, or it never made it to Blu-ray.
Qobuz has a digital downloads store as well. The music bought can be downloaded externally like bandcamp or it can be streamed from the qobuz app with no subscription required. Beware that there often is a change in music rights and the purchased music can disappear at any time. Qobuz warns you of this though and encourage users to download their purchased music as soon as possible.
