Because in America, they don’t want the masses to have an opinion that the masters didn’t give them to have. Having you educated by an unrestrained academia is counterproductive to their advancement of doublespeak.

I thought this was a bong for way too long…
Hey, if the stars and planets affect people’s behaviour… Just saying.

AlexLost@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Americans kinda don't like pickpocketing ruleEnglish2·10 hours agoHere here! It’s what they are indoctrinated to do in their defense. You make a good point that decades and decades of effort has gone into making things more secure has reduced the risk/reward for stuff like pickpocketing. I would bet they mostly target things like travel documentation now for identity theft, something more varied and readily available in multi country Europe than North America.
AlexLost@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Americans kinda don't like pickpocketing ruleEnglish1·10 hours agoJust like it is your decision to make too? Do you not see how that applies right back to you as the victim that then perpetrates a crime? It is in no way moral to gun some one down because they stole your chocolate bar, or your daughters virginity for that matter. It is your decision to act in retaliation, howsoever you do, and yes you should be held accountable for how YOU handle a situation, any situation.
AlexLost@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Americans kinda don't like pickpocketing ruleEnglish1·10 hours agoDo you hang around in large crowded tourist spots a lot? Crowded subways? Because that’s where they are, not walking down main St. Go to times square during any major event and they are out there, but as others commented, not at the levels you’ll see in European countries. Why, who knows? Tactics change over the years, they’ve probably found more profitable avenues of theft in the USA, God knows it is rampant.
AlexLost@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Americans kinda don't like pickpocketing ruleEnglish37·2 days agoMan, it’s just shit. Life should be of higher value than an object, even if it’s a really cool object or useful. You beating someone for taking something is a bigger problem then things being taken. You can’t commit a crime because someone else also committed a crime first. Get it?

AlexLost@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Americans kinda don't like pickpocketing ruleEnglish286·2 days agoIt is, your just not gonna find pickpockets in rural places and most people don’t leave their county, let alone state so people are clueless how the world at large works. Go to any big city and you’ll find pick pockets at work. Further to that, many of their tourist places are far apart and remote so less likely to find them in the same kind of places as Europe, which draws large volumes of people reliably to the sames places from all over the world.
For the record, American’s don’t like anything.

Bruised Moose is right, I was referring to the characters of the show, not the actors portraying them.

Let’s not lose sight of the problem.

Canada, or ‘Canada’ in French, was derived from “Kanata” the Iroquois word for Village. Not sure there ever was a local world for the country known as Canada though? Would love to be enlightened if so.
