  • Could it be that you’re putting a lot of pressure on yourself, or that the job is causing you a lot of stress? This stress might lead to gastritis, either directly or indirectly through unhealthy eating and drinking habits (eg lot of coffee or coffee of bad quality, fatty food like pizza). If that’s the case, being let go from this company might actually give you the opportunity to find a job with much less stress.

  • Of course, but this has the potential to be a problem, as it’s corporate-driven. Certainly, enterprises have the right to create their own distributions and even sell them, but I see Linux distributions as fundamentally community-driven projects. Corporate influence - whether through crucial software or participation in committees - risks shifting the balance away from community values, which is why I am against any corporate influence.

openSUSE is dependent on SUSE, which is part of the Linux Foundation, an entity under U.S. jurisdiction. openSUSE also uses systemd, developed by Red Hat, which is owned by IBM and has ties to Microsoft. The original poster is absolutely right: openSUSE cannot be fully trusted due to SUSE’s significant connections to U.S. corporations.

  • What do you think will now happen? AfD will just disappear? East Germany will suddenly vote for conservatives or leftist? My point is - and it is funny that people don’t get it and just downvote me instead of engaging in a discussion - that it will very likely resolve nothing (I thought I am far away from the kindergarten in Reddit here, but it seems to be the same). You cannot stop a train just by painting it as “right extremist” - and I did not say that this is not true, but some are thinking presumably that THIS is the solution. It is not!

My point is simple: to bring this party and its poison down, you need to find the core problem and solve it. Otherwise you won’t take away people from the AfD, but you will make them support harder this party. This creates frustration and where this leads … just think about it a moment instead screaming against others. They have already surpassed the CDU thanks to stubborn people like you and others here.

  • I really don’t know if this was a smart move. It reminds me deeply of the Weimar Republic and the exclusion of the right extremists. Everybody knows how it went. The reason: deep frustration in the society about the politics. It is the same now and the current parties do nothing to calm down the situation. This is so dangerous!

I do not want the same to happen again in Germany that suddenly this will lead to a strengthening of the AfD, which will push the country further to the right while the AfD is playing well the victim card. At the end there will be a Führerin Alice Weidel.

  • You mean like the Ukrainians in Butcha or the many Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russians? It is that way that Russians were treated in Ukraine? I never heard about it, but perhaps RT has made a (pseudo-)documentary with paid actors out of it.

I have known few Russians, and in my experience, they often move to a new country with little intention to integrate (we had and have still parallel societies with Russians in Europe). It is also of no surprise to me that the Russians in the Baltic countries and Ukraine (and also in some other European countries) have little intention to learn the language of the country, which is driven by nationalism, dominance, and pride.

  • But there was an agreement, which was signed even by Russia that, when Ukraine gives up their nukes, Russia will NOT attack Ukraine. Ukraine gave up their nukes, and we see the fruits of this. I also do not think that all the history around NATO is the main reason for Russias war against Ukraine. Already several times it was said that Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet power, just this time run by Russia and not the Soviet Union. Otherwise I do not understand why they are threatening to attack the Baltic states or Poland, which joined at a time when there was even no discussion about NATO thread or warnings from Russia. As said, this fits well in recreating the previous Russian influence with its satellite states than in any made up reason concerning the NATO.
