anyways, this was prompted by me checking out the new fremium TCG pocket that launched like a week and a half ago. typical timers and premium currency to speed stuff up kinda shit, very similar to go with a lot of it. I pulled an 0.3% Gyrados EX in one of the starter packs they give you, and that was kinda pog. the art is really nice, not done any battles yet I got like 20 cards so I don’t see the point

why add a type just to remove it??? I know most TCGs have you use only the most recent sets, but I always mixed and matched sets. feels weird to just have a defunct type. not having dragon energy is smart, gets around the problem I was saying with needing to find energy cards and deck bloat if there’s just no dragon energy to begin with

yo, they got dragon type pokemon cards now? not collected pokemon TCG since I was a kid. as a kid I was frustrated by the types of cards not matching the actual types of the pokemon, like the fuck do you mean all poison types are psychic? but, as an adult, I totally get why you cannot have every type be a card, because it would take longer to get the energy cards to do shit with more types

like earier I was watching this interesting video essay about The Thing, and they mentioned how Ebert lambasted the movie for the people splitting up and not working together to fight the monster… in a movie where the god damn point is anybody could be the monster and get you at any time, even YOU could be the monster; yeah no shit they were paranoid and split up

why is Roger Ebert considered such a good movie critic when like every time I read about some great movie, he doesn’t get it or fucking hates it. I do not think I have seen people say “oh yeah he had a great take about X”
