Seconding the emulation idea. Plenty of outstanding SNES games out there.

I’m working my way through the Stormblood expansion of Final Fantasy XIV. It’s still way too early to tell if I like the story more or less than Heavensward, but I know anecdotally people find this one to be kinda weak.

Donkey Kong for the Gameboy is an outstanding platformer/puzzle game.
