no they don’t they think they’re pullin it off too
I’ve been awake for too many hours and probably nothing I post right now should be considered a reasonable take

no they don’t they think they’re pullin it off too

i’ve tried asking about hobbies and people just tell me they have children and get angry at me. ain’t my fault you made a trade.

smile, show up and act like you belong. even if you don’t people will assume you do. if you want to join in, all you need to do is find the right person to ask.
i joined my first professional band that way. looked up [specific genre] bands in my area, found a few, looked up which one was the best, called up the director, showed up to practice, auditioned in and was their new [let’s pretend i play upright bass. i actually do, but last time i played one a tuning peg flew across the damn room. i also suck at it. so i was not playing upright bass with them] specialist. favorite band i ever played with.
it’s one of those “walk in and give a firm handshake and you’ll get a job” bullshit advice things. I had good timing, they were looking for someone who specialized in what i do (they had a specialist who moved away a year prior and they were noticing the difference) but they were the only ones i’ve played with that did all the frills and trills.

i needed to look that one up, since i know we have a few coin series - they’re obviously putting him on that coin series illegally to break a law for fun, but like i am not a currency lawyer. if they made it a quarter or halfdollar it might be legal. all i can say is that it would not break that specific law.

curb never appear to believe that they are doing anything other than being helpful or convenient.
“i am preventing my shopping cart from rolling away and hitting another car. that is the extent of my social obligation” i think is the thought process. not “i should put the shit i am borrowing away when i am done with it”

wait wait wait. send them to a base on the dark side of the moon

If i saw this in a coffee shop i’d make sure to go compliment the barista for doing a good job on the art. so like,👉👉😀
thanks! it was a delightful stay and too brief, the few years i was there.

i think their point is remember the susan b anthony and sacajawea dollars? people collected those, they didn’t spend them

remember the Sacajaweas? i actually wanted those

You’ll go to a bank and wait in line to exchange it with a bill?
that one. but my credit union is on the way home for me, so i might be a special situation. it’s like two minutes out of the way.
at places i have owned and operated or managed, we had a daily or weekly bank run. i would have it be part of that (get rid of all the funny money as part of replenishing the petit cash).
i agree, it’s legal tender. we don’t have the luxury of turning our nose up at people who may have just been given the damn coins and are just trying to get rid of them as fast as they can, same as us. i’m just mad i ain’t stretched enough to turn these into double ass dollars

begins? i’ve seen these in “antique” stores and estate sales from people whose grands got bilked, trying to get a fraction of what they paid or maybe face value. i have ideas for recasting, but i ain’t a sculptor.
first one i distinctly recall seeing was june this year (they were asking 11/coin for the set or 75 cents each for a single. it’d been a week and no takers. not surprising for a small liberal west coast beach community. i told them they should list the metal content on a sign and drop the price to 60 cents a coin, they’d be gone in a day (i have a small amount of experience in secondhand stores))
i don’t know if vending machines will take them. i’d be surprised if they do.
i did move, i’ve been back in california for over a decade
i lived in a since-gentrified apartment complex on may-ner down from the amy’s
like fuck texas, that one was English
and i refuse to pronounce it Kaynig. Kenig is the furthest i’ll go
you have a favorite out in Lockhart?
See the thing about Fahrzeugtechnik Dessau is, they always try to walk it in
the german way unless it’s an american name, in which case i gotta get damn verification

when i moved to austin and everyone was pronouncing guadalupe “guadaloop” and looking at me funny for pronouncing it guadalupe, i got murder eyes for like a month.
that’s the perfect name for an orange. Ours yodels too
lucky. she’s still a fox
(here’s younger her)

i have this excellent therapy comic book from the 70s that therapygary might know about called the facade (it’s buried in my bookshelf across the room and i am tired from dancing yesterday or else i’d grab the author and some photos) all about how people mask. basically, your conference facade is
but at home with your loved ones you get to be your actual you, where you recharge.
i used to think of it as putting up my shields ala star trek when i go out
