Classic country is where it’s at
If you’ve ever played gta San Andreas, don’t tell me you didn’t absolutely fuck with k rose
The American people will never get Marxism
Has anyone as incompetent of a human being as musk consistently failed upward so often?
I’m telling y’all the bourgeois’s greatest trick since the Industrial Revolution was rewriting history to paint the Luddites as undomesticated caveman and not workers rightfully concerned about the new ways in which porky’s latest toy would fuck them over
Reminds me of a great line about this in simulacra and simulation. “Childishness” is essentially an illusion
I think this also explains why a lot of neurodivergent adults are considered “childish” by corporate fucks by how they see problems in relation to how much. Maybe I should get into more team-based games because I don’t have experience with them, but it truly sounds like you’re describing a hyper-individuality bleeding through another domain. Love to live in a world with a bunch of individual people solving their individual problems and occasionally bumping in to each other to solve a problem collectively.
They’re software engineers. To them the problem must lie in the software and the solution is to fiddle with it
This is really funny to me because I do somewhat software-engineering oriented work, and I always end with “This is such a flawed design that needs to be reconstructed/blown up and whoever built it was only thinking about getting the job done to satisfy their personal interests.
Good for her! Hope she’s doing some good op sec to weaken the fascist US empire
Holy shit he is absolutely cooked
Genuinely curious what the hell the DNC is thinking
Someone please tell me how the fuck people are continuing to pay attention to professional sports while the US continues to degrade at an unfathomable rate
Maybe I’m just getting old, but I thought watching millionaires paid by billionaires play a game for entertainment would lose value when owning a house is a pipe dream and rent continues to increase (despite the price being completely detached from reality)
COVID should’ve shown EVERYONE that professional athletes don’t satisfy a societal need whatsoever. Every “need” in this godamned country is a treat
Honestly, I should probably look into Linux now that I’m working as a software dev. It seems like computer stuff just make more sense when you’re forced to look at the most granular data structures all day 😝
Discord used to be kinda neat for chatting and gaming
Enshitification has absolutely fucked the internet and I’m surprised that people are still using it tbh. For example, Reddit’s been shit for quite some time but the writing on the wall was there when it decided to ban all communist subreddits. Seems like all of them have “anarchist” mods that don’t even seem anarchist lol
Lmaoooo I’m reading some old Norton anthology of American literature and liberals have always been extremely cowardly
John brown’s raid at Harper’s ferry? Liberals agreed with the idea behind it but the optics were bad
Ralph Waldo Emerson’s message to Martin Van Buren imploring him to rethink Indian removal? Liberals agreed, but there was nothing that could be done 🥺
Lincoln voting against abolition in 1846? Uwu it could threaten the Union 🥺
And on and on and on. It’s always been about a power struggle
Amazing how nothing has changed in this country that is demonstrably beyond hope
Like at this point, you would have to be very silly to think that voting isn’t kayfab
Holy fuck
I never really considered the institutional derision towards people who can’t drive. It’s like “can’t drive” is the judgment, not a “person who might have an issue with driving for a reason that doesn’t concern me”
Same thing with housing insecure people. Basically another group treated as second-class citizens
Christ, fuck cars and car culture
I need someone to write something about how a lifelong career in corporate America is essentially just a soul-draining rpg
Characters are usually picked as soon as you adopt the corporate “lingo” such that your mind process is completely altered
If the average joe were kinda like me and just kinda attune to all of corporate work being an act, I feel like it’d be easy to radicalize people
Also, read cultish by Amanda Montell. Corporate America is cultish
Talking to someone about how “collapse” has been happening since the Reagan administration and there won’t be some kind of cataclysmic event that sets it off? Absolutely fucking baffling. Just so surreal
What the hell do they think COVID was if not the powers that be signaling a complete indifference towards humanity? Lmaooooooo like those on the periphery of complete poverty are increasing every single day
God fucking damnit. No, the stock market “recovering” doesn’t mean that things have recovered if fewer people can afford to live. Things haven’t recovered when you have to rent everything people used to own.
I really should’ve studied history. Because all the comments from apolitical people I’ve heard irl and seen online are some variation of “Things have been worse before, humanity will recover as it always has” 😀
Seems like this is how you get a fucking Hitler.
I guess I thought there was some credence to the idea that we just live in an era of endless information and things probably aren’t that bad. Until I talked to a self-aware boomer.
There was actually some bliss in that I was probably overreacting to stuff and making myself anxious or whatever. Awwww shit looks like online is actually real life regardless if it translates to the most popular candidate on social media getting in office
Lukewarm take: dating apps reward impulsivity. There’s always a better option to make your brain go brrrrrr just a little bit more even if that connection you had was something
Hell, I’m not immune to this either. Posting this is making my brain go brrrr at this very moment
Jesus fucking Christ. Were some of you clowning that civil war trailer because that’s the most terrifying horror movie I can imagine. I just really hope it gets looked at like zero dark thirty or some shit
This past weekend, I had what can only be called the experience of a lifetime.
I saw a young person—he was visibly frustrated and struggling. He appeared to be rummaging through a trash can in search of food (or other necessary items). This person was probably about ten years old, but I couldn’t help but be absolutely flustered by his work ethic. I approached the young man who revealed himself to be Jake, and today was actually his tenth birthday. He gave me a firm handshake, solid eye contact and that was all I needed to know he’d be a valuable asset to my company.
A year later, Jake has decided to forego his education and now works full-time at our steel manufacturing facility. As he is not of legal age to work, I was luckily able to pull a few strings with our local judicial bureau and they agreed to an extraordinary exception. Fortunately with this career, he has the opportunity to not only provide for himself but his impoverished family as well.
This is why I do what I do. It’s not about the company or me at the end of the day, it’s about providing better lives for the everyday people in our community, young or old 🇺🇸🇺🇸
🙏🙏🙏🙏 super appreciate it! I think I’ve about rage it for now, but I’ll definitely try again after work tomorrow with something easier
