I don’t think one party consent even applies if the driver was not part of the conversation. It says it was between the woman and her friends if I’m understanding correctly.

Or maybe how people let their hamsters run around the house in a plastic ball

It’s quite easy to vote from abroad, and I agree with you…it would have been good for the article to make that small point. I’m also really hoping that they still voted. I don’t think it’s fair to assume they didn’t, most Americans I know in Canada did vote.

Lucky enough to live in his district…he’s a real one. His newsletters really show his humanity in dealing with complex issues.

Be aware, Vancouver Sun is US-owned.
“Transit” app looks neat to replace Google maps for public transit and walking directions. Going to give it a try!
You might be right, but I wonder if it’s simpler than that. I think he just wants payback on every person ever who embarrassed or angered him. So he’s burning it all to the ground in order to hurt the people who voted against him…whatever makes Dems most angry is what he wants to do. In that sense, he’s easily manipulated by his inner circle of grifters and foreign strongmen that he idolizes.

1 day old account, look at the post history. I doubt that person is even Canadian.
Unfortunately no that’s not true. Even if duty is not owed, GST is still charged (based on the declared value) as I found out yesterday. $3.50 in GST $38 in brokerage fees added on by UPS. Fuck these guys, it’s predatory.
Hey this is a late reply, but what do you do when it’s not a commercial purchase? My mother insists on sending me packages from abroad through UPS and I get screwed with duty. Any ideas how to self clear this?

Missing data, or a missing prediction…since the chart is showing a difference between the two. It’s possible the model for those areas had some issue. I agree it’s worth questioning.
I’m glad this is working for you. When I tried (a few years ago), UPS refused to send the commercial invoice and bounced me around from person to person on the phone, all of whom seemed to have no idea what I was asking for. My partner tried and had the same experience. I think we tried about 5 different times and got nowhere.
For us, they had delivered the boxes while we weren’t home and then sent the bills later and then to collections (their own private collections company as it turns out). We sent a demand letter to them requesting proof that we accepted the delivery (we obviously hadn’t), and ultimately never heard another word from them. Collections letters and phone calls stopped. Not saying this will work for everyone, but we were relieved as we didn’t actually owe any duty (we were shipping our own stuff) and tried so hard to complete the process the right way.

Rainy on the coast but roads in the interior can get dicey if there’s snow. Stick to major highways.

You’ll still need a work permit to work in Canada, even for a US company remotely. So hopefully you’re up to speed on that process. In terms of where to live, there are some places in BC outside major cities that are affordable. Might be worth taking a road trip around to check some out

Well, you can get water out of your tap, so there’s an easy alternative. Use a filter if your tap water is iffy.

In case you’re asking in good faith… The downside is that non-citizens voting is simply not a problem. The number of cases is extremely low, there’s nothing to “fix” here. The biggest impact of this policy would be that actual American citizens who do not have, or lost, or forgot to bring their proof of citizenship will not be able to vote. It will predominantly affect poor and marginal populations. People that don’t have a passport, don’t have easy access to their birth certificate, or aren’t aware of the new regulation. Fewer people voting is 100% the goal with this policy.

Oh and I just noticed West Virginia. Not a spotted owl, sorry!

Face looks too pale for a spotted owl. Lacks the white x. Also habitat…seeing one in a residential area means almost certainly a barred. You’re seeing its back which can look pretty spotted on a barred owl.
Very superb visitor :)

Dude, just put a “no junk mail” sticker on your mailbox and it will stop. https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/personal/consumers-choice.page
I agree with the other two commenters. Also in my opinion, Trudeau had some good policy but terrible PR around it. The “carbon tax” should never had been called a tax from the beginning…most people got more money back, but everyone thought they were paying the tax. And Trudeau grew up in politics on the public stage. He took advantage of his privelige at times and wasn’t always careful with the optics of his actions. Too many opportunities for his opposition to criticize him and turn public favour against him.
