12·24 days agoThat’s not an argument, I’m up for debating conflicting ideas and understanding the perspectives, but just saying stuff like this do not achieve anything

14·24 days agoI’m sorry comrade but it’s still proletariat, as I said not the most precarious, but still if you are not bourgeoisie, you are proletariat, that is elementary, there is no two ways about it. I do not want to redeem the military forces I do not believe we can change the institution, but I think directing propaganda towards them can yield benefits, if it’s the best way to go about it, that is to be pondered and decided, but still my point holds

Capitalism in Decay@lemmygrad.ml•In 1945, Mussolini mused on a plan for the Axis to join the Western Allies in destroying CommunismEnglish
9·24 days agoI was gonna comment about thr unthinkable, there is even more substance to that, one researcher I follow talks about the fact that when the allies came to Italy they devised a deal with a Goebbels underling (likely speaking in name of the guy himself) to not fight the German units they come across and free them to join the German front against the communists. The idea behind that was the utter necessity (that can be clearly viewed when looking at gladio) of preventing the Soviets from getting to Italy and embolden the Italian communist movement and form a very potent alliance there.

14·24 days agoDoing an updated take on my other comment, the army, and a lot of it also applies to the police forces, are composed of people, and no matter how you slice it, the vast majority are proletariat, not the most precarious proletariat, but proletariat, and it is unreasonable to believe that at least some part of those individuals, chose those careers because they believed it was the best pay they could get from where they came from, you understand unemployment you understand that most people do not choose jobs completely freely. That is one of the points I want to make clear and I believe this one is quite grounded in reality
Next point, yes the job and function of those institutions is to oppress and discipline the proletariat overall, keep the people in their place, there is no doubt about that eithe, I’m not questioning that. But to claim that because of the atrocities committed by the organization every single member is either agrees or at least have no problems with does not track, it can be that even the majority is like that but still it’s not a forgone conclusion.
Next point, even a small number of members of armed forces sympathetic to our cause can be of crucial strategic value, not because they can change things from the inside, but they can potentially offer training, inside information, among and myriad of other things
Based on that I do think that the line of thought that goes: is part of the army = is and Nazi and I hate you. Achieves very little, makes their side of propaganda even easier, and prevents us from potentially getting strategic support from inside of crucial organizations
Those are my thoughts on the subject, I have no beef with anyone that disagrees and I do completely understand the deep aversion from those forces, I do, the US military have been a very destructive force on my continent (South America) I have no love for the organization, neither for the US as a country as well, but I do understand that the people of the USA are not the responsibles for what the US as an nation does, just the same way that I don’t blame every soldier for the actions of the Pentagon

21·24 days agoHow can you extrapolate from this that the average is like that plus I’m quite sure it varies state by state, and even if there is a huge number of radicalized soldier that for me is all the more reason to direct action and attention to try to sway their opinions before they get that bad

816·26 days agoWell this Graham Planter guy seems to be a piece of shit indeed, but the general sentiment of the post you printed I’m in agreement with, the US military uses poverty to fill its ranks, so it is made of proletariat people, and there is benefit to disputing their hearts and minds, but it is a rough struggle to do so since they’re surrounded by strong ideological training, but does not mean it’s a useless struggle

9·2 months agoI would think that China will never sign it, because I think this would be swiftly weponized against China(as you’ve said) with claims of genocide in Xinjiang and human rights violations in Tibet and all the same old westen song and dance, so I feel they’ll just run things their way, plus they don’t need this PR right now I’d wager, I think they are moving well towards their goals without the need to expose themselves to this kind of attack. So overall I don’t think they gain a lot doing it and stand to lose a bit, plus this PR you say is validation by the western powers, and I don’t think China is too worried with that validation as it’s much more worried with presenting themselves as an alternative to the western powers to the global south, so being more connected to them does them not too many favors
The recent post about Vietnam donating to Cuba, is the reverse Castrobucks

8·3 months agoThat’s why they’re trying to make data centers abroad, like at least here in Brazil, I know data centers are not exactly computing centers but I think it’s somewhat possible to convert once it’s properly set up
Yeah I think we are in agreement comrade, I just like to point out this things when I see a post on the subject because I’ve seen far too much people associate any attempt of improving the now (from the part of any socialist individual or organization) with a commitment with a inherently reformist agenda, so I like to leave the more expanded idea when I see a short communication about it, just to promote the broader vision a little
Easy there it’s not correct to say it is nothing but a distraction, if you make it the focus of your project for sure, but however possible we should try to make the changes possible that would help the working class, but of course that does not mean to adhere to their program but it is important to look at what improvements can be achieved. But never celebrating these folks as heroes or celebrating as a magnificent win it is a small comfort but far from the cure, and can distract, but can bring about some degree of help, the important part is to know that however much help that is, it’s always woefully insufficient. But help should never be discarded completely, even if ultimately in many cases we refuse the instances of incrementalism it’s important to know that it comes with a cost, because much of the people who would benefit a little right now, cannot see the possibility of a revolution ever working, but they want some improvement, in such case being against incrementalism can have a very significant impact on gathering support of who we most need on our side.

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•How do I recruit people to communism?
3·4 months agoThe answer I arrived at after much thought and trial and error is kinda you don’t. The framing of recruiting as I see it is not that effective, the way to do it is to be close to the masses, and help people, preferably in an organized fashion, with no strings attached, and along with the help you talk to people even some people with quite different views from yours and listen to them and have conversations, like about hobbies about their work about family stuff, establish a relationship of respect with people, once you get that they’ll listen to you when you talk about why things are the way they are, and the idea is to give people the tools to judge their own reality, and if your organization is doing things well the natural consequence is that some people will join. But if you lead with the dump of information uprooting their worldview and often antagonizing the views of people who they respect or love, you will almost always be seen as a raving lunatic because for that person’s life and social relations it’s a lot easier to ignore you and keep their old views, so to change that you gotta be part of the person’s life, be the friend of the people, operative word, FRIEND
Edit 1: and when I said to help the people I mean things like what VaqueroRed said about social movements or even what you say about material help, those are very good mechanisms

11·6 months agoThe one about revolution that says, “It will come, and it will bring bread, but also poetry”, is quite inspired as well. Trot had his moments, and he must be respected by his work on the revolutionary and I believe the Russian “civil” war, as a general, which he was and for what I know a competent one. It’s important to remember the figure as a whole, even though he deserved every bit of the pickaxe

Memes@lemmygrad.ml•The Death Toll of Capitalism (Sourced from "The Jakarta Method" by Vincent Bevins)
20·7 months agoIt’s missing the Vietnam war the Korean war, cointelpro(in the USA) operation gladio in Italy (was not a massive death toll but prevented communists to be elected in Italy). And in Brazil there was another one under president Vargas that instituted the task force of communist hunting, that preceeds operation condor as well

Is there a way to make it brief? I think just listing the interventions would be of a considerable size.
