Yeah, it’s technically true lol
If your parents were infertile than you wouldn’t exist so you wouldn’t have kids either.
Nothing in that sentence implies that you not being able to have kids means your parents couldn’t have kids.

Burning forests is good forest management. Let it burn and make room for new growth, it’s a natural cycle. Putting out fires immediately is what leads to massive amount of dead wood building up and then creating infernos that can’t be stopped before they reach important infrastructure.
Let it burn every 50-60 years and stop it before the infrastructure and you will have a much healthier forest.

“give”
The guy is a (former) trillionaire.
Fucking make him pay for it at least God damn.

Honestly if AI data centres are the reason your electric grid gets upgraded it’s probably worth it. AI bubble will pop and data centres will get closed down but your grid will still be upgraded.

I was going to skip 5 and get a 6 when it finally came out but I guess 4 will be my last playstation
If it’s something like bacon grease you can just wait for it to congeal and then scooped it into trash and wipe with a paper towel.

It’s sort of the risk you take when buying a property with an easement though. Their realtor should have disclosed that.
If it wasn’t there when they bought it the utility company should have had to at least pay market value for the land.

And the people with more champaign than they could ever drink restrict access to the water for the people who are dying of thirst.

“chosen” as replacement? Who the fuck chose? It definitely wasn’t the American public.

Even if this were actually going to happen, what is he doing? Renting out the US Navy for profit?
Sure maybe a few servicemen may die but at least America will get some money!

If it weren’t for the world cup most Americans would probably not even know Qatar was a country

I recently tried to plan a night out in “the city” and was looking for a hotel since I would like to have a few drinks. I can’t believe how stupid prices are.
A shitty motel is like $400 a night, so you would have to hire a cab already to drive you to a cheaper hotel like 15-20 minutes away.
Nicer hotels are going like $600-$800 a night.
How on earth does anyone afford a vacation for prices like that?

It doesn’t violate constitutional rights as long as whatever the camera can detect/see would be the same as a police officer. If it has a license plate reader and face detection or whatever it’s unconstitutional because an officer probably wouldn’t have been able to issue a ticket if it were a person there instead of a camera. If it’s something like an obviously missing seatbelt or phone use seen through the window at a reasonable angle it’s constitutional.
I don’t understand the “face an accuser in court” argument. It’s a photo. You argue about the photo with the judge. The photo is your accuser.
It’s almost like 70 year olds shouldn’t be elected state representatives since they can drop dead any moment.

No all three accepted offer, signed employment letter, went through a certification test that’s required for the work and cost the company $100. Then 2-3 weeks before the start date they say they got a better job.
We hire early to make sure certification can get done, which is why there’s a lag before start date. It’s an outdoor seasonal summer job usually university students.

I’m a visual person, turn by turn is also useless for me. Doesn’t help that by the time I can read the street name on the sign it’s too late to get into the turn lane.

Because it wasn’t some million dollar corporation exploiting employees. Some jobs actually have decent employers and I knew all it would do is make work harder for my coworkers. Personally I view it as a dick move to do.
It was a non profit animal sanctuary so not only do the workers get shafted the animals the guy was supposed to care for also got shafted.
Not every employer is bent on exploiting employees, but when employees treat every employer as if they are it makes it harder for the good ones to provide decent working conditions.
Employees can absolutely take advantage of employers and I think its silly that people think all employers all evil and all employees are innocent victims that should exploit everything.

Because the intention is to use the time when you are actually sick not use it to work 4-day work weeks. And using it like that means when the guy actually needs 6 months off for an emergency he won’t have the sick time to use, so basically puts all that work back on us double. And people who use it in the unintended way are why a lot of workplaces don’t offer lots of sick time for emergencies. Instead eventually we will only get the minimum 5 days per year that resets annually instead of accumulating and then they hire another worker with the savings.
Yes that helps with the workload but the rest of us get screwed since we won’t have an emergency backup of sick time to use anymore because someone used it in an unintended way.

Eh, it can definitely be abused. Worked a union job and we were allowed so many sick days which you were supposed to accumulate so that if you like, broke your leg you could potentially have like 6 months of sick time to recover.
But one guy would just call in sick every Friday basically and we had to cover his extra duties. He wasn’t sick, just abused the system.
That is literally the entire point of shares. You buy a percentage of the company and give them money so they can use that money to expand and develop.
Why would I give a company money if I don’t get a percentage of that company? It’s not a fuckin donation.
