Yeah this whole thing just feels like a huge trap for them to try and lure people back in. “Hey remember how fun r/place was? We’re doing it again. Come on back! Please clap.”
Actor / Cartoonist / Author / Humorist (and kinda bad at all of them), but I’ve failed at more things than most people have tried.
Married, poly, old and in a lot of pain. Played a doctor on TV. Former G+ Influencer. An actual wizard.

Long ago, a storm was heading toward the city of Quin’lat. The people sought protection within the walls, all except one man who remained outside. I went to him and asked what he was doing. “I am not afraid,” he said. “I will not hide my face behind stone and mortar. I will stand before the wind and make it respect me.” I honored his choice and went inside. The next day, the storm came, and the man was killed. The wind does not respect a fool. Do not stand before the wind.
Had to burn off a Sega Saturn with a huge collection of games, a Virtual Boy, and a top loader NES back when I was in deep financial trouble. Practically killed me.
I felt that way at first, but ever since the big turning point update it’s gotten a lot more layered and complex, to the point where I’ve gone from underwhelmed at the options to overwhelmed at the number of things I could be doing.
Yeah that’s my big fear now that they’re out of the game. They took some wacky and wild chances, but that also led to them developing some stuff that’s industry standard nowadays. They had capacitive screens and wide angle camera lenses before Apple, and while it didn’t “fold” like the Pixel Fold does, I believe the Flex line was the first phone to have a flexed/flexible screen - back in 2015.
Now that they’re gone, I am afraid it’s just going to be Apple and Samsung copying off one another with diminishing returns.
There’s always No Man’s Sky, I haven’t played it for a year or so but I know they have added a ton of new stuff in the last few updates. Maybe not completely fulfilling, but could kill some time pleasantly
You know what never had that problem despite years of abuse? My LG V60 Dual Screen.
I deleted all my post history and burned my decade-old account to the ground. I have been actively avoiding everything Reddit, including search results, which has made the internet a bit of a nightmare to try and navigate.
