  • You think that Labour are hard left? They literally kicked out all the actual communists and other far left people years ago. I don’t think you have ever seen what real far-left organizations look like or believe - I actually used to be a member of one some time ago if you wanted to ask. You’re either misinformed or a lot further right than you claim. It doesn’t surprise me people are applying that label to you given what you have just come out with.

I don’t know the context here because I am not American. That being said I can see it being useful that there is a record somewhere that someone has transitioned and what medical steps this involved for no other reason than their safety. Things like HRT, or any kind of surgery can have serious complications. Even gender dysphoria itself can lead to suicide. There should be some mechanism in place for Doctors to get this information quickly, and by nature that would probably involve the government. It should obviously be protected information like any other piece of medical data not available to all government workers unless it directly concerns their responsibilities.

  • If someone isn’t comfortable speaking from their main account (which apparently isn’t the case here) then that’s more of a sign the community needs to change and be more open to differing points of view. It’s not always a problem with the individual, and implying that to be the case when it clearly isn’t is a toxic thing to do.

  • You understand that technical people often are the least likely to trust new technology and are often stuck in the mud when it comes to technology? Doubly so if you are anti-corporation. It seems anything that isn’t the Unix way of doing things can be questioned.

There is a good meme about people who love technology vs people who actually work with the stuff. The former using IoT devices to turn their lights on while the latter uses a light switch and has a gun in case the printer starts making weird noises.

I could be wrong and I apologize if so but it sounds like you are confusing children being aware or witnessing the existence of sex with them being forced or coerced into taking part. Normally when people talk about or so research about child sexual abuse they are talking about the latter and not the former, so just looking up child sexual abuse research wouldn’t be sufficiently specific.

This is a very weird thing to say. Have you considered that maybe it’s only not important to you? Because it sure seems important to everyone else. Maybe you are asexual or something, which is totally fine, but it doesn’t mean everyone else is.

  • I really am not sure that’s true. I think that has more to do with socialization than one actually being more competitive. I am supposedly a guy and I rarely feel that competitive over stuff like gaming, and that’s despite having anger issues for a good portion of my life.

As someone else said misogyny tends to push women away from these communities as well.

  • You know I am honestly not so sure. I have seen people who definitely aren’t healthy, and probably not emotionally secure who get and sometimes keep relationships. It’s a lot more complex than you think. Some part of this is because obviously people with similar issues want to be together, but I think as well that things like physical attractiveness do have a role. It’s also the case that being a nice person and being emotionally stable aren’t actually the same thing, and often don’t go together. In fact to me it seems like people who have issues are actually less judgemental. Some of the worst people are those who have never struggled with anything.

It’s like how people have this concept that they either are or aren’t worthy of love. I don’t think that’s even a valid idea to begin with as there is no universal standard for what people want in a partner. Someone either wants you or they don’t, worthiness just isn’t a large factor.
