3·3 hours agoI’ve never picked up a Souls game myself, because that kind of challenge isn’t what I play video games for. But I’ve also never felt like I was being cheated out of an experience, there are plenty of other games out there for me.
I think if a developer doesn’t want to add an easy mode because they feel like that would be an inferior version of their game, it’s their prerogative not to do it. When an author writes an intellectually challenging book, nobody serious complains that the author refused to include cliff notes or explanations. Why don’t we treat video game designers the same?

4·3 days agoIf you’re interested in other non-Muppets Henson work, check out the graphic novel Tale of Sand. Henson and his writing partner Jerry Juhl wrote this screenplay in the 50s and 60s, but were never able to produce it because its scope was too large for any budget they could’ve ever gotten at the time. In the mid aughts, the Henson Company hired comic book artist Ramón Pérez to adapt the screenplay into a graphic novel. It’s extremely surreal, but a great read, with great art.

I don’t know. I just tried to think about and appreciate not having a sore throat, but actively thinking about how my body feels in general as a baseline just made me realize that I’m not feeling that great ever.

Oh, great point. I think you’re right. I didn’t see it as a centerpiece alternative to a fruit bowl.
We don’t capitalize “human” because as of now there are no other intelligent species we have relationships with on that level; there’s no need to add that level of “respect” to the word. But if we did make first contact with an intelligent alien species, I wouldn’t be surprised if cultural conventions like whether or not to capitalize the names of sentient species became a thing.
