This is 95% more information than you can consume or find useful. I cannot get these type of homepages except to have done a thing and feel happy about it. My “homepage” is a link to all my services, but I rarely use it because of that thing in between my ears that allows me to remember what service I want to use.

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•crashed out and went out of my comfort zoneEnglish
2·8 天前I totally get this, outside of work and school it’s really hard to make friends. Your body changes and children trouble sounds difficult. I’ve seen my own fair share of both, I can relate!
I started a running group to find new people. Made two good friends so far. They actually seek me out so that’s an improvement already!
I don’t think there is a file in my Firefox directory that is Google.com but I get your point, that’s cache tho.
That’s an interesting idea, do I want my website guaranteed to be fully downloaded to someone else’s computer tho lol
Running a singular OS—I like that I can run the same system on my current four computers—two servers, one desktop, and one 12 year old Microsoft laptop.
Selfhosting—It started with an interest in Jellyfin and Qbittorrent, which led to running my own server(s), progressing to wanting to learn more Linux and run a singular OS for all devices. I think this point is focused on an interest in selfhosting.
Control—I don’t like customizing my systems, its a waste of time, but I enjoy having complete control and ownership over them.
Trust and Privacy—I don’t want to use any software that doesn’t respect the user enough to show the source.
Freedom—I believe media, software, and information should be open access to all.

11·14 天前dang, you’re right!
Music on my server via Soulseek downloads and shares. I share it via SMB share and Jellyfin with tailscale to all my devices.
People often recommend Navidrome but its lack of care for folders irks me.

5·14 天前I don’t get servo after reading more. It looks like it was a Mozilla side projected over ten years ago that got cancelled but now some team is managIng it. Running it, it seems to barely do anything.
Would be nice to have an alternative that isn’t the questionable Ladybird.

My journey began with windows, Jellyfin, and qbit. Nice you have done the same! Only reason I switched to Linux is because I wanted servers and hated unraid
