exactly what i was thinking.
exactly what i was thinking.
not exactly my friend.
not exactly. many starlink users are not your grandpa in his $500k RV. it’s the digital nomad in their $5k RV held together by duct tape. some of us would do anything to get away from all the bullshit of modern society, and quite frankly i think the world needs more of us.
lordkitsuna is the answer, dude. more people getting away from the grind of the big machine to live remote lives far from society is the answer. i don’t like starlink either but these networks are crucial for the modern nomad to exist.
the resources aren’t the problem (although i would still only half agree with you on that statement). it’s the quality of life. do you want to live your life packed into an apartment? do you want to get on a 5 lane freeway to go get groceries? do you want to go to a state park and not be able to find a parking space? do you like crowded spaces? do you want to continue to burn rain forest to create range lands? do you want to watch the suburbs continue to expand into natural areas? do you want to continue to global warming?
we are a much more sustainable species at half our current population level.
the fuck it aint. all you got to do is have only one child and you will reduce the population by half in a single lifetime.
the simplest solution is to stop having so many babies. population reduction is critical to quality of life.
this is a self defense situation now
sorry you’re being downvoted, but i support scientific data AND putting religious people in asylums.
not being trolled by lemmy d list celebrities, and then, i don’t know, maybe i’ll smoke a joint.
when society turns on the people with a conscience, the people with a conscience should turn on society. stop playing nice.
watch out. we’re in an incel feeding area.
anons are far from puppies. anons should probably be kicked regularly on general principle.
this a thousand times over.
I would be wise to think what to do instead.
THIS^ this is the statement that needs to be repeated over and over in leftist american circles.
i think if we worked on this instead of endless whining and worrying, the problem would be gone by now. the solutions are simple. sorry you got downvoted. you didn’t deserve it.
i mean, if you support a rational society that uses reasoning to create an altruistic stewardship of the world, then it pretty much justifies an any means necessary approach to defeat christian nationalism (or any other superstitious, irrational belief system). otherwise, the next century is going to unimaginable suffering.
and this is why i support militant atheism.
i’m on the spectrum myself, but i was raised before awareness was widespread. i overcame it, and i’m thankful because it’s a lonely place inside my head compared to the joy of sharing interactions with people IRL.
yes, but that assumes that there is some human quality to the internet. yes, we post emojis and people love cat pics, but there’s still something inherently plastic about all of this - something deeply human that is lost in binary translation, which is why it’s important that we hold on to simple things like using our voices and making eye contact IRL.
when yall stop making eye contact, you’ve truly lost your humanity
agreed. it’s a technology we need but like everything meant to improve humanity, it should be publicly owned (no, not the stock market - truly public).
