True, if you decide to partake of something like that and then converse about it with others, it is your duty as a traveler of the high seas to then provide them with an “ethically sourced” copy.
The best way to enjoy something that may benefit a problematic person is to simply acquire it in a way that doesn’t benefit them. Perhaps whilst on board a ship with a nice barrel of grog.

Yeah it’s horrible. I used to be able to get at least a year out of a pair (I wear them every day and do a lot of physical work that really tears them up) and now like I said the last two had crotch rips within two months. It also felt like they changed the cut of them as well. I dug out an older pair to substitute in my rotation and it was waaaaay roomier than the new pair and still the same size
Yeah I live in workwear but they are definitely getting weaker, last pair I got ripped in 2 months x-x
Yeah sadly streetwear/cyberwear just didn’t work for those of us of the thick persuasion
In the 2024 rules you don’t take the animal forms HP so the druid in this case could easily tank that hit from Igor since they still have their base hp and you need to be at least level 8 to have a form with fly speed so plenty of hp in that pool.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Linux gamers: Do you ever occasionally shut down your PC?English
4·3 months agoI am of the old school mindset that stress cycles kill components. So, much like the centennial light, I don’t turn off pc’s ever. As a result I’ve only ever had one hard component failure (not including HDDs) over 31 years. Less energy efficient? Absolutely! But I’ll trade that for component life even if it’s a placebo.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK Your smoke detectors should be replaced every 7-10 years
1·3 months agoTrue but even gas stoves, clothes driers, water heaters etc can produce lethal levels of carbon monoxide if not properly (or have clogged) venting. And ounce of prevention is better than a 6 foot hole.

61·3 months agoOther countries use less flammable materials in their construction. Wood frame construction is very common in the US due to drastically lower cost of wood vs block. We also had something called balloon frame construction for many years which made it much more likely for fire to travel within the walls. That being said not having detectors isn’t a great idea either since most are combo smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Sadly the number of boomers I have met who are ridiculously angry that a “burger flipper” at a fast food joint makes $18 an hour shows me that it truly does lean towards being a generational mindset as well. The true outliers are the more reasonable boomers from my personal interactions but ymmv depending on location. That being said I do totally agree that the root cause is class based but many of those boomers fall into that upper middle class that has been pinned against the lower classes for so long.
He forgot he got married duhhhhhh!

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Steam Machine to have fewer 'Verified' badge constraints — Valve says Verified on Steam Deck titles expected to run smoothly on upcoming PC consoleEnglish
1·4 months agoWell keep in mind the Steamdeck was sold at a loss as well. I think this is less a money making venture for VALVE and more angling to bring a easy to use alternative to windows systems to the market. I’ll agree that some people will likely balk at the price tag but at the end of the day especially with the hardware shortages in the pc space I’m almost certain that they will have a hard time keeping them in stock if they are able up put them out this year.

11·4 months agoHard disagree. People are acting like this is a console. It’s a living room pc. It does everything the consoles do AND functions as a media center AND has no subscription fees all while connecting to your existing Steam, GOG and Epic libraries.
PS5 Pro however is $749.99, costs $80 a year for the ability to take it online and only covers PS4 backward compatibility. Nintendo isn’t an apples to apples comparison and Microsoft has all but left the market.
I think in a world where consoles are slipping and new cell phones cost that much or double, this won’t be that hard of a sale.
I personally vibrate on a molecular level and phase through them myself.
Oh for sure there will be an archeologist in my old neighborhood in a couple hundred years wondering what the significance of all these round plastic rings they excavated is lol
I may have watched a few too many black and white movies in the 80s, though Eddie Valiant was my hero as well lol

Sadly the one by me has a small army of armed guards…
