I just installed SteamOS on a mini PC that costs about half what the Steam Machine does (and less than the Deck under current pricing), and runs on an AMD 7840HS with 32GB of RAM in a form-factor that’s the size of 3 stacked pieces of bread.

While that APU is likely powerful than the Steam machine’s with its dedicated VRAM, I did test a few games and it definitely outperforms the Deck and the higher system RAM makes it potentially more versatile than either.

There are, but there are also a lot of drawbacks to bring divorced multiple times. This also depends on how long and far the person is taking at the “getting to know each other” stage before marriage, etc as well

I’ve got a collection of games that are either:

• Games I liked but wouldn’t want my kids to play
• Games I liked and my kids will likely like
• Games I liked and my kids likely won’t like
• Games I liked and my kids initially don’t, but dammit they’re going to give it a try anyways despite the dated graphics or sometimes cheesy plot-points

People can be great in some ways yet fallible or bad in others, particularly when looked at through the lense of time.

Follies and achievements should often be looked at with the perspective that we’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot from both.

Or - as a Canadian - they DO have an online store but it doesn’t ship here :-(

I’d kinda love to see a comeback for optical given the supply issues for flash memory, but I’ll about that a custom USB ROM stick or SDCard style carts for PC would be kinda sick

What data exactly is it going to upload? There’s a finite amount of data that can store and I’d imagine with the chip/storage costs on the rise no manufacturer is going to be using a larger onboard storage device. They’re all too damn cheap for that

A lot of those people (racist supremacist etc assholes) were also fucking “the help”, and even back then I’m pretty sure it wasn’t considered socially acceptable to fuck animals, nor would anyone ever expect progeny to happen from such. That kinda defeats the argument of non-whites being another species or non-human etc, so it’s more “they’re not human when it comes to rights but human enough for everything else”

I kinda feel it does make sense, though perhaps not so strongly as the parent indicated. Young brains are more malleable - that’s pretty much a known thing - and learning at a young age sets in high knowledge and patterns of learning that follow us through adulthood.

If one learns a certain thing from a young age and it’s pretty much been driven in multiple ways - indoctrination whether intentional or otherwise - that’s a lot of stuff that’s been set pretty hard. Even it somebody is actively aware it’s bad it can be hard to adjust one’s inclination towards a certain way of thinking.

I’m not trying to make excuses for racism - because frankly a lot of those people don’t even try to adjust their thinking - but breaking free from one’s upbringing is not a small hurdle and I’d put it in similar terms to breaking a bad addiction.

I got “one way” reflective film for the window that gets the most sun exposure and it definitely makes a difference, ones provides privacy during the day while still letting me see outside

Hopefully also as a supported option to the existing phones. I’ve got a Fold and switching is sounding pretty good right now…

My take on this is:

You (homophobes) don’t have to have a gay wedding.

You don’t have to attend a gay wedding.

So why do you need to complain about gay weddings? The number of people who fight against something that completely doesn’t affect them and/or is entirely optional is crazy. Even if your “beliefs” say X is unacceptable that’s a guideline for you not everyone else!

Which makes sense in some ways. The Frame should be more capable and powerful by itself, but the Index needed those damn base stations which cost a bit just by themselves

I have the skill, but no longer the willingness to maintain said PC for the enjoyment of everyone else who is less technical. Updates on Steam Deck has been dead easy, and compatibility fairly straightforward.

I’ll still muck around with my own bigger gaming rig, but for the “this goes on the living room” device the SM seems like a good balance.

Yup. Same. The first one I had actually indicated I was legitimately worried that the situation would lead to violence. Instead it flagged me as advocating for violence. The exact opposite of what I’d said.
