  • I wonder if anybody remembers when it leaked Microsoft had a concept of a plan about restrictions on Xbox discs (used/shared), everyone gasped, Sony mocked them in a video about “sharing discs” on PS4 and became a turning point in the console wars…

Even a decade later: Remove discs at your peril! Half the reason I’ve even bought consoles is for Blu-ray movies (still unbeatable AV quality). Sony won both the console and disc drive wars FFS! Still not enough. “Line must go up more!”

I hope MS is at least mocking them back right now, for giggles. Before announcing a very similar thing next year…

  • Seems quite similar to her answers, but obviously my “deplorably dishonest strawman” was exaggerated for effect.

I wish we could have viable third parties, but without some kind of ranked choice voting they will only remain spoilers. Which leads people to wonder why Stein remains at the top of a party that doesn’t perform well, and actually serves to reduce votes for things they claim to care about. Democrats are a coalition of all kinds, and if enough people would bother to vote in primaries the quality control would only improve.

  • I’m trying to imagine how T**** would try to handle this. First, extort Boeing execs in exchange for help. Then, once the “donations” clear, use all powers and pressures to crush the strike, firing so-called strike leaders (illegal? add it to the pile…), and dump in more police/military for intimidation.

Bernie and progressives will undoubtedly fully support workers, join the line. Biden can strengthen his “most pro-union president” legacy (it’s a low bar, not perfect). Great opportunity for Harris and Walz (but it needs to be very strong or it will only disappoint).

  • The first batch is possibly arriving in one city. (Pics or it didn’t happen, of course. AP delivers!) Well, that’s nice… at least they actually exist?! (That’s a bit of a low bar.) But congrats to the first drivers of these little ducks.

I’m worried it’s going to take another decade or three for the trucks to actually arrive in the numbers needed. Hopefully the USPS can survive our deplorable politics until then. They are invaluable for small businesses and keeping all mail couriers competitive.
