Old fridges didn’t use thermostats. You just set between “min” and “max” and the temp inside the fridge would vary depending on the temp outside the fridge.
Digital fridges with thermostats to maintain a specific temp are definitely an improvement.
None of that requires AI or Internet. But it does require 1s and 0s.
