    I remember it as it happened. It was mostly an European affair, pushed by the french who were losing oil access in the country. They decided to side against Gheddafi, despite all the efforts from Berlusconi who was a friend of Gheddafi’s (yeah it’s a bit disgusting) and wanted to protect Eni’s budding interests in Libya.

    The no fly zone helped the (UAE-backed) rebels and hindered Gheddafi, they even put up sanctions.

    NATO didn’t go to Libya with humanitarian intentions, if there weren’t fossil fuels in the country, they’d still be under the Carlos Santana lookalike.
