You know that he would be all liberte, egalite, fraternite if the far right had won.
Liberte, egalite, fraternite offered potential political and economic rights; liberals ultimately rejected de jure economic rights for the working classes and thereby rejected de facto political rights.
It’s funny that there is not a single statement regarding this as a coup in liberal news while they moan and seethe about Venezuela. Western hypocrisy strikes again.
If anything remotely like this happened in any adversary nation, we’d never hear the end of it.
It’s funny how all these liberal democracies have these “checks and balances”… to thwart any potential threat to capital.
lukewarm milquetoast leftists in the west when they win elections:
So… realistically… what happens now?
I’m guessing nothing in the near term, but eventually I expect the far right will take power. These kinds of moves are only further discrediting the system people no longer believe in, and it’s going to push more people towards NR.
Nothing will come of it (probably), but Melenchon launched an impeachment against Macron. https://xcancel.com/RnaudBertrand/status/1828174294146248742
Hopefully a revolution… probably nothinging
My hope is that. If we’re very lucky, the EU/NATO axis sacrificing the french economy for the benefit of the American bourgeoisie might push the french petty bourgeoisie to want to overthrow the US loyalist bourgeoisie. So not a communist revolution but at least an anti-American revolt that would weaken both the US hegemony and the French bourgeoisie, making an actual communist revolution in France easier. But is that realistic though?
Nothing meaningful unless the working classes develop leverage; history suggests that in the imperial cores a sufficient portion of the masses turn towards fascism.
