I’m gonna give Stamos the benefit of the doubt as say maybe he needs the hair for work. No seriously. He’s an actor, their appearance and image are work relevant.
I really don’t care about either of these men, but they seem like they’re having fun and nobody that matters seems to care that he wore a bald cap instead of shaving his head. In fact, it kinda seems like that’s the joke…
Look at his hairline. He’s balding anyway so just gave it a try to see if he likes it. Made a PR campaign out of it, end of story
Guess he really is paranoid about his hair
He’s got a great head of hair. My wife thinks he’s a bit of a nutter though, but in a good, nice way.
sounds like the wife successfully threw you off the scent lol. Interesting that she went with the word “nutter” to describe him ;)
Cut ✌️

At least Dave got rid of that reverse Flock of Seagulls piece of shit.
What did Dave think of it? None of us matter if Dave actually appreciated the (albeit minimal, noncommittal) gesture
I would like to point out that actors are usually contractually obligated to maintain a specific appearance. Stamos may literally have not been able to shave his head in solidarity, so while seemingly noncommittal I think there could be more to the gesture. As you say, Dave is the only authority on the matter either way.
If I was in that kind of spot I would full support a friend of mine making fun of it. Humor is the best medicine as they say
Yeah this is between them. Leave them alone or offer support. Negativity won’t help anything
If it was between them they wouldn’t be posting it on social media
It’s fun to take pics with my friends and share online.
don’t put it on Twitter if you don’t want people seeing it and possibly talking shit. it’s not between them anymore. social media has fucked people’s brains, main character syndrome.

well they posted it somewhere didn’t they
Well wasn’t he dating Alanis Morisette when he was 30 and she was 17
Edit: in 92. So she was 17/18 and he was 32/33
How’s that relevant to the bald thing?
Not defending it, but what’s it have to do with Dave liking the gesture or not
Calling into question the things he liked? lol I dunno I was more really just hijacking the first comment I saw sorry
Being mad about this instead of Dave Coulier “dating” Alanis Morisette when he was in his 30s and she was 17 is like being mad at Obama about wearing a tan suit and not all the drone bombings or mass-deportations.
We’re bad at picking what to be pissed about.
You oughta know.
Ironic.
It really did rain on my wedding day and I did not see the irony of the situation. We were inside so it really wasn’t a problem.
It was forecasted to rain on my wedding day and my wife nearly died, so I bought seven purple umbrellas and one big white umbrella so they could take pictures in the rain. It didn’t rain until after pictures. Is that irony?
Even our photos were inside because we got married in this sort of high-end mall that was on the courthouse square and had a giant ballroom at the top floor. We had the ceremony and reception there, and there was a very pretty fountain on the ground floor where we did the pictures.
My brother also got married in a ballroom. In Alabama. In view of the “First White House of the Confederacy.” We are not Southerners but his wife is. It was also a Gone With the Wind themed wedding. They claim they have no racial prejudices but after that, it was pretty hard to buy. And that was before the day my brother decided to post to everyone on Facebook that he would yell the N-word when he was alone in his car because it was transgressive. (But he doesn’t do it to be racist, he swears!)
Really looking forward to visiting him in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I haven’t seen him in 10 years and was hoping to keep it that way, but my mom is elderly and won’t take a plane and so I’m driving her. At least I’m going to be staying with friends instead of him.
Sorry, I needed to rant for a second.
Best of luck, friend. That’s a good thing you’re doing for your mom. I, too, have a troublesome brother in a southern state, and even my own family members have told me, “If you ever visit him, for the love of god, get a hotel. Do NOT stay at his house.” I’m glad you have friends that you can stay with instead. Hopefully you’ll arrive back home with more fun memories of friends than anything else.
Thanks. And now I feel bad because I just checked Facebook and he announced that his kitty died. So I apparently killed his kitty by ranting. He couldn’t take me badmouthing my brother and saw only one way out.
This story took me for a ride. In a car. Where the driver was yelling the N-word. But it’s okay because it’s transgressive, even though I guess I don’t know what that means.
It means “I get to break the social contract since no one is around and I hate being constrained by rules.” He’s neurodivergent, so he’s not the most clued-in on social contracts in the first place, but that’s not an excuse. He’s just a very weird person in so many ways though. He did not just decide to be a vegan, he decided to be a vegan who also will not eat fat or oil, and not because of animals, because he thinks that’s how humans should eat if they want to live as long as possible. He also once (again, publicly on Facebook) talked about how he couldn’t understand why no one in his work zoom meeting thought it was funny when he showed off the REAL HUMAN SKULL he somehow owns because apparently it’s really funny to own, again, A HUMAN SKULL.
There was a blizzard on mine. No irony though, just bad weather.
Except that she was 18 not 17. And though that age gap is still quite something it’s not a “Matt Gaetz scandal” level something. And if you’d actually ever listen to the song you’d know she was pissed about him leaving her for an older woman.
Playing Devil’s advocate, is he autistic? A lot of autistic guys tend to date younger and find them easier to relate with. She was 17 and he was like 30? guess it depends on the law. Kinda silly that only a few months or weeks later and he’s not “a creep”.
Has he done anything else after that?
edit: funny how Lemmy down votes me for this, yet cheers and jerks off to Johnny Depp and similar men, who are 60 and grooming teens and banging girls in their 20s.
Do… Do you actually think you’re being downvoted by people cheering on Johnny Fuckinf Depp? Or are you just whining because you’re learning that your bad takes are also bad?
Hypocrites gonna hypocrite
devil’s advocate
Opinion disregarded. That’s why you were downvoted, btw. If you have a point worth making, don’t couch it in “devil’s advocate” bullshit
What an angry little person
I left Bluesky to read men’s takes on Lemmy: “child rape is equivalent to a brown suit, despite the child herself writing and speaking about the pain and agony of that relationship,” and “autism is the same as pedophilia.” Amazing takes, Lemmy. This is why no one likes your app - the users are actual human garbage.
At least the bad take is getting downvoted? 😅
Nope, people are writing me back now and defending it. Because Lemmy is literally full of misogynists amd the mods refuse to do anything about it, because they are misogynists too.
And you all wonder why women despise you. Lol.
“child rape is equivalent to a brown suit, despite the child herself writing and speaking about the pain and agony of that relationship,” and “autism is the same as pedophilia.”
Nobody said or implied either of those. For one thing, the bald cap was compared to the tan suit, and the child predation was compared to the carpet bombing. It takes an incredibly bad misreading to think they said that tan suits = child rape.
For another, an analogy doesn’t equate two concepts, it merely compares them. Hating this guy for the bald cap instead of the child predation is like hating Obama for the tan suit instead of the drone strikes, in that there are legitimate reasons to be upset with these people, and the reason provided isn’t one. That isn’t to say that anything that person A did is in any way equivalent to anything that person B did, only that situation A and situation B share a similarity in C.
And the person you replied to didn’t say that autism is the same as pedophilia, they said that people with autism often date younger than them. That isn’t making any statement about autism as a trait. Not that I agree with them, but you’re disagreeing with something they didn’t even say
This is why no one likes your app
How young are you? This is a network of websites, not an app
Sure, Jan. You didn’t need to write so much, you could’ve just admitted you’re a pedo too.
Can you point me towards the part where I said anything that would make you think I’m a pedo? Or did you even read the comment?
That’s the part you’re most worried about, huh? Lol, hit dog hollers
That’s the only thing you said about me in your reply
You’re right, the difference being a few weeks is silly. There should be a tier system instead. Like 15-, 16-17, 18-20, 21-24. If you’re an old fart, you can only date over 25. If you’re within one of the tiers, you can date within the same tier and maintain any relationship that was started when you were previously in the same tier. Something like that, but with a little more polish.
1/2+7 works pretty well
Always a relevant xkcd. Though that’s
(age / 2) + 7
Well you say that, but this Stamos guy is a fucking asshole, why didn’t he simply go rogue and shave his head and shutdown whatever production he is working on while his hair grows back, like those people working on it with him can take a few months without pay
This was my first thought. I bet his hair has it’s own contract and he couldn’t break it.
I thought we all learned from Cavills cgi upper lips in the whedon JL cut that actors don’t own their likeness during filming
Having been forced to make a gesture at gun point a bald cap remained his only option
Came here to say , who cares if the pedo has cancer ffs.
I wonder if they can cut it out.
John checking his xitter replies like “oh mylanta 😩”
cutting out fake drama? they can’t, they crave it.
Ok, I kinda get it. His looks are his living, without those he has nothing. But seeing as that is the case, he might have found another way to support his friend rather than an empty, performative stunt.
rather than an empty, performative stunt.
looks to me both parties are enjoying themselves in the photo, doesn’t look empty or performative at all. if Dave Coulier was cool with it, thats all that matters imo
Isn’t shaving one’s head an “empty performative stunt”? It doesn’t provide any benefit to the cancer patient.
I don’t think so if you’re fond of your hair. Even if it grows back, it’s a symbolic sacrifice in solidarity–a nice firm hug. A bald cap feels like a limp hug or a pat on the head.
Not that anyone should feel obligated to shave their head, but one major thing is that his hair is literally his livelihood. He may be under contract not to change his appearance, and shaving one’s head (especially at that age) might do permanent damage.
I doubt that Dave would want John to shave his head. But they’re good friends, and our opinion from the sidelines doesn’t really matter that much.
Good points, and yeah, our opinions are irrelevant. And to be honest, I’m not interested in their lives and I don’t even know who either of them are. lol
Although I looked up shaving causing permanent hair damage and found nothing, I think it’s a myth since shaving is done above the hair follicles. If it’s not, then it’d be damn interesting to know why!
a pat on the head.
I would love that, ngl.
I see nothing wrong with doing a gesture in support of a friend.
I think what people see as wrong with it is these sorts of gestures are usually actually shaving your hair off in support. As a way of saying you’re in this together and there to support the individual. This method comes off as disingenuous because you can just take the cap off and go back to your normal life, the other person can’t.
Ultimately it’s between them, but if you’re going to publicize it. It comes off as shallow and an attempt at making yourself a part of someone else’s illness
So what you’re supposed to cut your arm off to support a one armed friend?
Cut it out!
Well if it grew back like hair….
Right. I’m calling out the person in the screenshot who compared it to arms.
Hehe, “cut it out”. Hehe.
And the easiest way to lose a few pounds. Win-win!
A. Who gives a fuck if Stamos didn’t actually shave his head.
B. Fuck Dave Coulier.
Wait, what did Dave Coulier do?
Date a 17 year old when he was 30. Just sex predator stuff.
Coulier looks good bald. Stamos, not so much.
Stamos looks unnatural in a way I’m surprised by.
That’s because an unnatural portion of his personality is his hair.
I think when you’re probably shooting (as in filming) stuff you can’t just shave your head in the middle of an ongoing project.
Otherwise I’d agree with the sentiment he should actually shave his hair but in this specific circumstance it doesn’t feel disingenuous.
