Google is rolling out Android System SafetyCore, and it’ll power the upcoming Sensitive Content Warnings feature in Messages.
I wish there was an option for “I’m in the UK - we don’t use SMS/RCS anymore”. Every time I open the text app it acts as if it’s Signal/WhatsApp and I’m suddenly going to start texting people like it’s 2003. I just want the 2FA pass code that was sent, you weirdos.
You can disable any app using ADB. See here to disable messages.
Though this is a reason I run AOSP (Lineage, Graphene) and root my phones. I keep SMS apps disabled (in the US we have stupid emergency alerts that are never relevant to me that come through the SMS system.)
Fixing the headline: New unwanted spyware from a tech monopolistic behemoth will scan your messages to improve their AI and profit from you
Alternatively: Google pushes a totally innocent app with full access to all current and future photos amidst a digital arms-race of a fascist technocracy.
“Google said that when the feature does roll out, it’ll be entirely optional for adults but opt-out for users who are under the age of 18.”
“For now. We forgot to add that. For now. Empower fascists or don’t be evil, whichever gets me paid.”
Achtung!
Can someone test this with me
So now I’ll get a special alert when I receive nudes?
Excellent … can’t wait until bot operators find new and exciting ways to use it to get more eyeballs on their scams.
Hopefully they’ll add an AOL’esqe ‘you got nudes’ sound.
Can’t wait!
