Unlike in Trump’s first term, Democratic voters say 2-to-1 they want party leaders to fight rather than compromise, even at the risk of not getting things done, per the NBC News poll.
They lack unity and any sort of definitive leadership. They’re a rudderless ship in a storm. What consensus they can muster among the older ranks is to not upset their wealthy donors, so any chance of creating a policy to invigorate the working class is out of the question. Any policy that is good for the working class will tap the brakes on the unfettered looting being done by the ruling class, so that’s a no starter for the establishment Democrats.
What the people want, what some in congress want, what some states want, and what lobbyists want are all different things.
The only thing that Congress and the politicians listen to is money. 90% of the population’s wants are ignored, only those who have an income much higher than most Americans are considered, no matter how popular an idea or bill is.
