        Eh not really, the entire reason they lost the island was the Corsicans hating the Italians and leading an independence war. Corsicans tend to still dislike Italians.

          Ok but have you considered that it just looks weird on a map to have Sardinia and Corsica split between different countries? Haha.

          I’m being facetious of course, thank you for providing that historical tidbit, i confess i am not the most educated on the history of Corsica.

            That first point makes sense, though I think its a bit goofy to have them split.

            Also no worries about the history! Long story short, it used to belong to the Republic of Genoa who had a very goofy looking map,

            A few hundred years later Corsica rose up against the Italians and the Italians requested the French militaries help. After the conflict ended the French just took it as repayment for their help.
