That’s a little bit sad as it was a reverse blue checkmark: you see the tag and you know that the posts are gonna be mostly fire

i don’t see any labels for NPR, BBC, CBC, or RT. maybe all the “state-affiliated media” tags were removed?

edit: nevermind looks like Xinhua has it

Maybe that was while the change rollout was in progress? XHNews doesn’t have the label for me now, nor does any other account I just checked (including accounts from several different countries which did have it recently).

Somehow I doubt this will convince NPR and PBS to come back anytime soon.

interesting, and i think you’re right, i just checked, restarted app with IOS/ipad and it still shows “china state-affiliated media”… but my web browser does not show it

I presume the mobile app and web frontend are 2 separate repos. Considering Twitter is running off the backs of a handful overworked and burnt out H-1B workers, I’m not surprised that they’re having trouble rolling out changes.

i’ve seen people saying that it’s to “re-evaluate” the label system or something so you can probably expect them to come back soon (with all the US state media unlabeled, naturally)
