i’m gonna take a little break from discord, but part of me still wants to use it. are there any alternatives to discord that even discord users have (with real-time responding and all)?

Would element/matrix be considered it? If nothing else element is waaay better than discord when it comes to privacy.
element has the main features of discord, but they aren’t as fleshed out (screensharing is worse, voice is slightly worse, etc.) but with the upside of it not being corporate
if you wanna go old-school then irc or teamspeak/vent
