    While I do think that there needs to be some kind of protection for people claiming to have created something that they did not,

    Then just credit the person?

    I’m not sure why people still think that author’s works need to be protected; because sharing was quite enjoyed by ancient authors.

    Humans don’t own anything; we trick ourselves into believing we can own things. We collectively share ideas.

      Agreed, people should credit artists whose ideas they use. Sometimes that doesn’t happen and the protection I was talking about was for instances in which people don’t credit the artist.
