This is why it angers me when people say "There’s so much help available, just ask! THIS is the level of help available! Homeless people, even children on the streets in the middle of winter.

Same thing with food insecurity. Food banks closed, and when they’re open only allowing you to go three times every 6 months. The rest of the time you can just starve! BUt jUst aSK fOR heLp!

    In the US, they fine food kitchens for trying to feed people. Any type of shelter, like tents or fabricated shanties, are destroyed in police sweeps with any meager possessions one might have accumulated being binned. The new definition of middle class in the US is a family having a car to sleep in after they get off of work. Hard to pull yourself up by your boot straps when the rich keep stealing your boots.
