      What’s interesting is that I live in an area that used to be dense rainforest and was cleared (burnt) to less than 5%. Now, when people visit, they love to take photos of the grassy fields (cow paddocks) interspersed with sickly rainforest trees (if any).

      If that picture had some grass instead of black and you didn’t know it was the Amazon, people might actually like it.

      Tragedies in every country. Definitely not taking away from this environmental tragedy (which is probably the greatest of all) but for the past 400 years (up to 10,000), we have really been making a meal of it. Will it ever stop?
