A 5 panel comic. Panel 1: Bird has a sidewalk stand selling socks and “magic socks.” Li and Shoelace the cat approach. Li: “Excuse me, what makes these socks magic?” Panel 2: Bird: “They keep your feet warm.” Panel 3: Li: “Don’t all socks do that?” Panel 4: Bird (sweating nervously): Uh, but these socks do it with MAGIC." Panel 5: Li and Shoelace shown at home, sitting in lounge chairs, wearing their new “magic” socks. Li: “OOOOOH.”
Replace magic with AI and you could sell out to tech billionaires in a nanosecond.
This is pretty much my life at work. “Here’s how AI can do something with 95% accuracy, beating out the alternate rule based method that only delivers a 100% accuracy rate”.
These AI powers socks can adjust to the microclimate of the room you are in, setting your cosy zone with the companion app you can keep your feet at the temperature you want, no matter what you stand on.
But the app was abandoned by the devs when the company went under, and it wasnt open source :(
That’s ok, the socks have enough processing power to run doom so there is that for the hacker groups to get going at least.
Haven’t played doom on socks yet. But can they run crysis?
At one point Netflix did a silly DIY tutorial to make your own socks with embedded remote. The idea was the socks would detect when you fall asleep and would pause the stream.
Maybe some of those could run Doom.
A while back you’d have caught edgy atheist phony-god me being like “crystals are bullshit, I ain’t buying that!” but these days I look at them and am like, “hmmm, it’s not a subscription, and worst case scenario I have a cool rock on my desk… sold!”
At the very least you have a defensive weapon
if you don’t step the fuck back this quartz is gonna be a rose quartz. 😤
I’ve been in some craft shops before that sold all sorts of crystals and other knick-knacks, and while I would never believe they have some magical power, there were some pretty cool things. The prices though… not that they were overpriced really, just that I couldn’t afford them. :D
I got a meteorite for last Christmas that I keep on my desk. Technically it’s just a little lump of pitted metal, one of hundreds of thousands sold. But it’s neat to look at and think about sometimes.
Yeah they’re expensive, but again not a subscription!
“Hey my rock isn’t reducing my stress.” “Oooooh, what is that the 2025 model? Yeah that’s no good for 2026 stress, you need the new geode.”
15 years ago people bought whatever had the word ‘nano’ on it
I have issues with keeping my feet and hands warm (they tend to be ice cold), so socks that could keep my feet warm would actually be magic 😭
USB heated socks and gloves
These heated products are okay for home useage. But my feet usually don’t warm up when walking outside in cold and these things aren’t very durable in that sense. Maybe I should just move closer to the equator. Kidding! I can’t handle heat either 😞
NAH, GIVE ME LEGIT WARMING FEET SOCKS!

Robed lol.
The regular socks are now made of recycled toilet paper and provide no such warming.
You have to get the premium socks for warmth. Any elasticity you want is an extra monthly subscription on top of that.
