the article is light (ha) on details, but im curious if this goes up with some batteries it directly charges or can it also be tethered to a ground station and pump power to the grid?
Reasonably certain this would transmit power via cables to the ground
I would imagine power would get transferred to batteries/grid on the ground via a cable.
These things are gonna get equipped with lazers and used for defense against drone swarms.
I suspect regular guns are still likely more effective. Problem with lasers is that they need heavy batteries, and need to keep on target for a while to actually do damage. They also don’t work well in rain, fog, or any other bad weather. What we’ll likely see is just guns with AI system targeting them.
