In its early phases, Ukraine’s counteroffensive is having less success and Russian forces are showing more competence than western assessments expected, two western officials and a senior US military official tell CNN.
What you are talking about then it’s not called peace. It’s called appeasement. It’s what we tried in 2008 and 2014, and it’s what Chamberlain tried with Hitler in order to stop WW2 from happening.
Doesn’t work and we should stop doing it tbh. It means throwing people under the bus now to delay the inevitable war caused by the power hungry dictator, that, with every win, will feel emboldened and cause an even bigger and worse war down the line.
Putin’s plans have been clear since the 24th. He wants to conquer Ukraine and make it a puppet, like Belarus. Next target is Moldova, then Georgia and then probably Poland (although that would be a whole other can of worms). If you want to give in now, just know that this is the plan.
