The amount of gadgets and other miscellaneous items he has tells me otherwise. Also, how is he powering all of that? I don’t see any solar panels or wind turbines close to his cave on the top of that mountain.

Carbon footprints require fossil fuels. Burning wood is carbon neutral and if he and the dog are hunting or gathering, they’d be doing in a sustainable way just by happenstance.
