It’s Monday morning, and that can only mean one thing. Yup, it’s time to think on those troublesome life choices that ultimately led to your current life situation. Oh and I guess it’s also time to tell us what you’ve been playing over the last seven days.

So to quote the merchant from Resident Evil 4…

What’re ya buyin’ playing?

I’ve been watching a bit of Silent Witness with my partner as of late, which always makes me want to play Investigation/Detective games, so I’ve had a bit of:

    Pixel Noir

    Shadows of Doubt

    Cyber Manhunt

I also had a go at the “Star Trucker” demo from the Steam Demo week thingy.

Happy with all of these at the moment.

Oh yes, I absolutely loved it, and I’d agree it’s definitely one of the best.

It’s a shame there’s not more in a similar series. I’d absolutely go for a sequel, DLC etc.

Now I think about it, I believe a chunk of the Detective games I’m playing or have played have come from me searching for “Obra Dinn similar games” and working outwards from there :)

It’s not exactly the same thing but there was a game from 2023 called ‘Chants of Senaar’ that might scratch the same itch if you’ve not already tried it?

I bounced off it midway through, but it’s still a really strong effort.

Yeah, got it and played it and loved it (up to a point).

I might have got a bit further in than you, but there’s a bit at the end where you’re just going back through every level to find the other portals to put the translations in, to wrap up loose ends, and it feels a bit like a job I can’t be bothered finishing.

Absolutely loved the first 90% of the game though. I’ll finish it off at some point, no doubt.

I’ve also got the apparently similar “Heaven’s Vault”, but not actually played it yet.
