Why YSK: looks very similar and functions like Apollo, if you’re used to Apollo that’s a great app for you, even if you do not, it’s still one of the best apps for lemmy You can install the web app here: wefwef.app/settings/install or just use it on your browser here wefwef.app
I am astounded by how good wefwef is. Without question the best web app I’ve ever seen
Too good for a web app
I’ve been trying to help out with the app’s development and has been in a few conversations with the lead dev. Top notch dude! Has a really good vision for the app and is very good in handling all the community discussion.

Reviews will open once it leaves early access!
Glad you’re enjoying it, so am I!
Just tried liftoff and am loving the UI!
No kbin support.
Kbin doesn’t have an API for apps to work with just yet. You’ll have to wait until they work on theirs before you’ll see any apps.
It’s a lemmy app. Wait for Artemis.
I like it. Just wish this grey was a bit darker.
Right now all reviews are private feedback because the app is early access, but once the app doe its first full release version that will change.
Shit this is the best app so far! Hope they really release an app not just a page.
On Android, chrome has an option to add any page to your home screen which makes it function like an app. That’s what I’m doing.
It also works on iOS
Yup, I’m using it like this but the performance is obviously subpar, especially compared to apollo
I’m still holding out hope that Christian will adapt Apollo to work with lemmy! But I fear it’s very unlikely
I’m doing the same but with Firefox
I’m doing it with Vivaldi!
Brave here, runs like a dream.
Mull user around 😉
works with opera the same. the only thing reminding you its a webapp is the browser icon on the devices home screen.
I actually do this with kbin as well, though their “app” interface is nowhere near wefwef quality. Plus I am a Reddit refugee because I was a strong Apollo user, so the interface is like home to me.
did you click ‘add to homescreen’? you’ll be none the wiser that it’s a web app
I did. But still its not an app… Its a web page disguised as app.
It must be amazing if it’s taken you all the way down to 9%!
With your phone’s last dying breath an inescapable urge came over you to say something nice about wefwef. Then you stood up and finally flushed the toilet.
And immediately face planted as your legs give in after 75 minutes without circulation.
It looks incongruous with Android’s design, but I still like it. It’s nice to have variety.
Sync for lemmy will be out in a month or so! Sync was easily the best looking Reddit app in excistence for Material You design. I’m sure Sync for lemmy will be the same.
Sync is basically the only non google app I’ve used that actually uses native material 3
Yeah there are a growing number of options. Hell, lemmy itself is now a web app. I’m using Memmy myself.
I can’t settle on one yet. I alternate between Wefwef and Memmy. Both are very good at bringing the Apollo vibes!
Memmy’s TestFlight has been full every time I check. Looking forward to trying.
Fwiw it literally just went into in review by Apple so it might be on the store in an hour or so here.
It’s in the store right now!
Replying from it right now! Thanks.
That’s a bummer. Hope you can get in soon. It is very similar to Wefwef, as they’re both going for Apollo, so you basically have the gist of it. They both have been getting frequent updates, so I flip flop on which I prefer. It’s been Wefwef until today, but right now, I think Memmy is slightly edging it out.
It’s now available on the app store :)
Me too, yesterday I was telling people wefwef is best, but today I’m all loving memmy and can’t decide. Spoiled for choice! Really impressed with these devs
It’s so awesome what they’ve accomplished! Very grateful for that!
I’m all for it!

Memmy gang
It’s definitely currently the best app out there. However as an android user, the design paradigm feels very alien to me which makes me really miss Sync.
I’m used to Sync too, they’re planning to launch a new version for Lemmy so we will have to wait
I’m currently using an app called thunder which has been great so far. Supports material you theming as well.
I’m curious what feels different to you? I came from Sync to Wefwef and it’s been a smooth transition for me. It reminds me of how the sync layout used to be which I never updated from when he switched versions so that may be it.
Swiping a post away to return to the feed view was huge for me. I also changed the font size, adapted the comment swipe behavior to my liking, disabled various buttons and enabled others. All features that make it feel different for me.
But I was more talking about the general look and feel of the app which perfectly fits iOS, but not Android. Android usually has a burger menu that opens a sidebar on the left which contains the settings while iOS apps tend to have it in the bottom bar. The login is also mostly in there which is also different from iOS. Things like that.
I agree with the Android thing, I have Android as well but maybe I’m less conflicted because I used to have Apollo on iOS before? 🤷🏻 IDK but this app looks fine to my eye and I can stand the lack of Monet/Material You for it…
Probably the best app out there for now. But it feels like I am using an apple app on an android phone
This. It’s still the best app for now, but I hate the iOs feeling. I’m waiting for Sync or Boost so much.
Connect for Lemmy is great IMO
Wefwef has saved me from going back to Reddit.
All hail wefwef, the good boy of apps!
Just now I found out that I can’t scroll to top by tapping the top bar of my phone on wefwef (PWA)
It’s a known issue. You need to tap on the post icon in the bottom tsk bar.
I can’t get it to work with Kbin. It only has a list of Lemmy instances and it doesn’t recognise Kbin.
I don’t think there are any apps that support both Lemmy and Kbin currently. Artemis says they’ll eventually do both but not sure it’s usable now.
Last I checked Kbin didn’t have an API which is why you see fewer apps for Kbin I guess. Those that work do so by scraping the web pages. Maybe that’s changed in the meantime.
I’m able to use with my account that’s not from one of the instances listed (still lemmy though).
Hello there, and welcome to our community! I hope you like it in here.
Could you please include some body text as to why should people know this, and how would that help them? It’s our second rule. Thank you :)
Looks similar to Apollo
What more do you think I need to include?
anyway, will edit
And, with a few minor appearance setting adjustments, feels very similar to RIF.

It’s completely broken for me after two days of error messages. It was working okay. I changed nothing and now nothing works art all.
Your instance was hit hard by the migration. This is normal. It’ll be better once Lemmy.world does some upgrades or once you move to another instance
I’m new to all this (Reddit refugee), how do you move to another instance? If you do move, do your comments and whatnot all come with you?
No not yet. To move, you just have to create a new account on another instance.
Thanks!
You just make another account on a preferably smaller instance.
It’s a new account though, that means you’re not migrating anything.
I expect there will be some tools in the future which allow to migrate/sync your subscriptions between accounts at least but comments and posts will always be tied to the instance your account belongs to, I guess.
Oh, okay thank you!
I just checked into this, it looks like this is not available on Lemmy as of yet. It’s available on Mastodon, and is an important feature, so it will likely be added in the future.
I would suggest creating an account on your new instance for now, considering it’s so early on. In the future I expect this to be added.
Thank you. I hope it’s added at some point, would be good to have. Thankfully, Lemmy.world seems to be working a lot better for me today!
there was a major update that was done today. I think this is going to basically be the new normal.
Oh that’s great!
You cannot currently migrate your account from one instance to another. You can do so with a community, but not with your user account. This is something being talked about for a future version of Lemmy. In the meantime, there are tools and scripts out there that attempt copy data/subscriptions over from one account to another, but they are hit-and-miss
Thank you for clarifying for me!
how’s it running after today’s updates on lemmy.world?
It’s not. At all. Can’t see anything but posts I commented on. Can’t reply in those. Couldn’t send you a DM. Typing this right through lemmy.world. It’s completely broken and I’m about to delete it and move on.
It’s surprisingly effective for what is basically a Web container, although it is worth noting it doesn’t work very well if you try and install it via Firefox.
My biggest issue with it is that it doesn’t run quite as well as a native app, because it basically runs inside of a browser, which might be something to watch out for if you have an older device (and if you have an old iDevice, it doesn’t work at all). It might end up being unusably slow.
What issues do you have running it via firefox? It seems fine for me, although I didn’t try with chrome
Personally, I found it to be very sluggish compared to the inbuilt browser/Chrome, and vulnerable to a weird bug that Firefox seems to have on my device, where the entire browser engine stops working if you multitask/switch between apps, being stuck on a blank black/white screen until you close and restart the app.
Yeah same for me, firefox install feels sluggish whereas it runs smoother and faster with chrome. Maybe it has to do with how every site is optimized for chromium browsers nowadays.
I also have this, and I often have to force-kill the entire Firefox app in order to make it come back to life.
I wish Firefox on mobile was overall just “better”
Suggested method is to “install” the app: go to Settings, there’s an option to install the app as a PWA there.
Unfortunately, that didn’t really work properly for me when using Firefox on Android, and still runs into all the issues. Judging by the little firefox icon it put in, it installed as a Firefox web application, effectively running within the Firefox container, meaning it’s still vulnerable to all the others that Firefox seems to have on my device.
