I’m still waiting for the peace dividend the neoliberals promised at the end of history.

Still, geopolitical tensions and persistent inflation in the euro area could undermine that scenario and extend the recession, while risks in the housing market may cloud the outlook further, it said. Further political strikes, which have already prompted businesses to warn of reduced earnings in the first quarter, could also fuel uncertainty.

The pro-business government of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has faced a backlash from the unions in recent months over proposed cuts to benefits and a plan to restrict political strikes.

Oh, the neoliberal dividends were never for us.

What I find most hilarious is how the article fails to mention that Finland did a lot of trade with Russia before the war, and now that trade has completely evaporated. Kind of crazy not to mention such a thing when talking about reasons for the recession.

Conservative right wingers with connections to the USA, Russia and China have been in power for the last x decades slowly digging this hole. Now that they have a cabinet without anyone else to slow them down, they’re going all-in.

I expect that EU will see an economic crash similar to the one Russia saw in the 90s, and EU will likely break up as a result. Smarter countries will join the BRICS, and the rest will become exploited by the US.

Probably the countries of the Eastern block will be reabsorbed, western countries (which are full of OTAN military bases all over their territory) have already chosen.
