I guess that people who buy these cars have a need for emotive support and very poor self esteem, and need to bother everyone else when there is absolutely no need for it.

I’m all for this as long as we get custom novelty engine sounds. I would drive a Ferrari that makes cheesy engine sounds like a person impersonating a car with their voice. Floor the accellerator and it literally screams “Vroooom!”. Coast around a parking lot while your car gently scats.
Imagine starting your car and it making the Macintosh boot sound, then tearing down the interstate with dialup modem sounds blasting.

This would be very funny but for the sake of clarity/safety I hope they get regulated to a single standard sound. As a pedestrian I’d like to know immediately whether it’s a car
