We need to stop pretending the “moderate” Dems and progressives are on the same team.

Moderates almost all take that dirty AIPAC money to turn a blind eye to genocide, and AIPAC still donates to republicans as well

They’re not the only ones, lots of “big money donors” play both sides.

And they’ll do anything they can to keep politicians who can’t be bought off from keeping office.

The only way to save our political system is kicking out all these “moderates” from the Democratic party so at least one option actually wants to help citizens more than they want donations.

Dems have always been a loose coalition compared to the lockstep republicans. Its also why the left is the majority in the country yet it can’t keep a majority of power.

Dems voters agree on most stuff…

The issue is Dem politicians are way more right leaning than voters.

Because organizations like AIPAC donate heavily against progressives in primaries, and donate to DNC leadership because primaries legally don’t have to be fair.

And if a Dem progressive does overcome that dirty money and win, these rightwing organizations will keep donating millions against them to prevent progress.

You can’t treat Dem voters and moderate Dem politicians as one group. We don’t even have the same fucking goals.

Well as a dem voter I can say middle east policy does not effect my vote one iota so I think dem voters don’t agree on most stuff necessarily.

And people wonder how Hitler was elected…

I just can’t imagine a significant amount of the dem party just doesn’t care their tax dollars are funding a genocide.

Maybe they don’t care, they just still have the sense of shame not to openly admit it as candidly as you just have.

There is no shame here. No tax dollars would be spent around it if we had nothing to do with the region. We should exit it all because everything we have done has always resulted in bad results. This is definately an issue were neither party does a good job but the republicans have never, ever, shown to be better at getting to a good outcome. Therefore its not something that effects my voting. What gets me is all the hand wringers that want to vote or not vote to get an even worse outcome. Good job if we get that result. Hope you are good with were it goes.

It’s refreshing to see such honesty.

I just wish it wasn’t about being cool with genocides. Don’t expect anymore replies.

They’re on the same team in the same way you’re on the same team with a stranger when there are 6 ravenous wolves circling your dwindling torch light.

Is that stranger a fascist? Will they stab you in the back? Who knows: but it’s better to have a back to press yours to than it is to have 3 unwatched wolves behind you.

Coalition forming is our only option as progressives.

Except a better analogy would be one bear, and the other guy keeps pushing you down while you run away.

You barely survived and fours years later you find out that other guy kept the bear as a pet this whole time but hasn’t been feeding it and it just escaped.

And when you both run he trips you again.

How long will it take for you to realize the guy is just as dangerous as the bear?
