Oh hey! That was me! Nice to see you around! That mod was a piece of work, hilarious little saga all around
Does “customize” not work? As in:
EndeavorOS KDE customization
This is the first time that I’ve tried to start customizing my system
There is a consensus in this community. Posts that use the racist term get removed when they’re noticed by mods. You can check the mod log.
Hey, just so you know, “rice” is a racist term. You should remove it from your title and post body before a mod removes your post
Do you really believe this? Red hat is paying people to shill for them on lemmy? I don’t suppose I could trouble you for some evidence of that, could I?
Paid moderators? Why do you think they get paid? Who do you think is paying them?
I’m saying that if sufficient infrastructure exists then it’s fine to just ban SUVs entirely because they’re not necessary.
I think I’m a big dumdum because I didn’t realize until literally this comment that this is the other, better, non-carbrained solution. I was over here like “so what, you just want people with SUV’s to decide of their own accord not to drive them into downtown because suddenly they realize they’re bad people for doing so? Never gonna happen.”
But now that I see your much better idea, simply ban all SUVs from Paris, I’m entirely on board! I do think that’s going to be a harder law to pass than hiking parking fees, but it would definitely be a much better one!
Wait, you’re bothered by someone saying Kevin Hart is a shitty comedian? Have I read this right? I hate to say it, but if that’s enough for you to be mad at the ebil hexbears, you should really probably just keep us blocked
But “Zionist” doesn’t mean the same thing anymore, and I bet he doesn’t fully grasp what he’s identifying with in a modern sense.
So we’re in the position where a sitting US president is making speeches using words he doesn’t understand? Wow, that does not seem great. Maybe we should have a president who knows what words mean, you know?
Also, I have to admit, I don’t care if someone has genocide as a goal or not. I care a bit more about their actions. Will a person’s actions lead to more genocide? If so, then I think that person should be removed from power, immediately, regardless of what they think about genocide.
OP, why did you post this? What do you hope people reading will get out of it?
Why didn’t you link the original source: https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2023/09/27/18859198.php
Did you notice that the text sounds like it was written by a bad ai?
If I were a little more cynical, I’d say you’re posting this because you want people to read the headline, think to themselves “China bad”, then move on with their day, doing no more investigation into the matter.
If the above paragraph was not your intention, please explain to me what exactly you were hoping to achieve here.
Here’s the Know Your Meme page: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/jordan-petersons-chinese-sperm-factory-milking-tweet
I probably could have found a better source, but I’m on mobile and famously terrible at doing stuff on phones. Oh well
I’m not surprised they walked it back. They’ve pulled the classic “new coke” trick here: put out something deeply terrible no one will ever agree to, then walk it back pretty significantly to something still shitty and exploitative, but not as bad as what you had threatened. Your customers feel like this is a win, but they’re still stuck with a worse deal than before the beginning of the debacle.
zifnab’s comment has links to:
These seem to me like sources that wouldn’t usually be prominent in facebook conspiracy theory groups.
Can you please tell me what the issue is with zifnab’s comment? Why do you feel like the comment would be more at home in a facebook conspiracy theory group?
That’s not the issue. She is a public figure and has shared her own photos. The issue is that Channel 7 falsely implied she regrets her transition. Channel 7 is trying to use a happily transitioned trans person as an example of someone harmed by childhood transition, and that’s slimy as hell
I try to stay civil outside hexbear, but this post is testing my resolve on that. Are you really so treat-brained that you’re ok with forcing children to mine cobalt so you can have a smartphone?
You should take some time and think about whether that’s really the kind of person you want to be
As far left as you can go, huh? I’d suggest trying to push that envelope a little bit. Instead of being disappointed/mad/sad that rich people aren’t looking out for other people, try asking why rich people exist in the first place? Where did their wealth come from? And should they be allowed to keep it?
He’s right though, the song is basically saying “life is hard for conservative cishet white men because of the got dang politicians taxing us”, and that’s a fundamentally reactionary view of the world.
If you want recommendations for good, actually working class country songs, might I recommend Woodie Guthrie? Or Peggy Seeger? They’re a little more on the folk side, but they’re really good.
Just fyi, that’s not what lemmy world did. They defederated from us completely (and preemptively).
Wait, people are still talking about these movies? I enjoyed them, I’ll watch any more that get made (Daniel Craig’s accent is so, so funny), but you’re extremely right that they’re shallow. They’re fun, amusing slop, but that’s it, really. They’re neat little whodunnit’s with fairly satisfying conclusions. They’re Hercule Poirot for people who will never read Agatha Christie. They’re good at what they do, but I can’t imagine giving either of them a rewatch, really. Not now that I know the twists.
