  • I know it’s rhetorical but yeah. They (not so) secretly want to kill LGBTQ, or at least view them as inferior. It’s just another indicator of weakness, to them, that LGBTQ protestors and allies don’t abuse their position in the West to demand reigning death on people living in places the West has previously done nothing but reign death upon or destabilize, while fostering the least palatable organized resistance they could find. Still couldn’t manage to find anyone worse than themselves though.

  • I know I’ve read some Parenti that gets into it a bit, I’ll take a look. Most were not literally executed, but the Soviets denied scientists acknowledgement for work, often they had as little knowledge of what they were really working on as possible (which may have hindered their contributions). But the only allegations attributing specific individuals their contributions that I’ve found before the collapse of the USSR appear in Western language sources, usually of those who were seemingly useful long enough or non-ideological enough to be sent home, and of those really just those that made their way to West Germany (and often ultimately the US) or were close to those that did.

  • Pretty much all of the above for me. B with the qualifier that I just think the leadership is not as cartoonishly evil/stupid as the Western ruling class and the systems being put in place and claims being made by the state have a path to socialism. It’s not like the USA, where nothing is taught about socialism during education unless you go out of your way during university. I do think 1917 was the last truly realistic chance, which didn’t pan out mostly due to momentum (capitalist wealth stolen from other nations for decades/centuries and reinvested in the destruction of revolutions). It’s just that not all hope is lost.

The ruling class of the West seems to be a mix of (1) too stupid to realize their class will eventually bring about the Fourth Reich and very possibly end the world and (2) smart enough to approximately realize it but mostly stupid enough to not be interested in addressing it as anything other than individuals with NZ bunkers/WALL-E ambitions.

Also I just saw your handle and if you deal with that wanted to recommend benzoyl peroxide. I dealt with that (diagnosed) for a couple of years before finding this dermatology clinic’s report from the 80s. Cleared it up in a couple weeks.

  • It sounds like your main concerns are your IP leaking to instance operators? Valid. The most private way with the least absolute hassle, in my mind, would be to just use an account on an existing instance but only ever access it via Tor or a a VPN over Tor if Tor is blocked by most instances. Haven’t checked. Can be a commercial VPN or a VPN on a VPS you have, but if you’re going for broke then only something setup and paid for anonymously. So via Tor or public wifi networks with a wifi cannon with random MAC & taking care to avoid cameras, and paid with XMR or a prepaid debit card bought with cash at a shop without CCTV, preferably months or years earlier if there’s cameras in the area.

1.) some websites state that lemmy prefers you to have one user server (that is 1 server with only 1 user ) , but somewhere else i read that you need to whitelisted by servers to allow you to post on their community

Having federation default to deny or default to allow new instances is up to the operators of existing instances. Unless there’s a central place like (join-lemmy.org) which can aggregate these settings automatically I think you’d have to do some digging.

3.) can i use duckdns or no-ip to get a subdomain and then host matrix /lemmy server there , how safe /applicable is that

Dynamic DNS services should be fine, unless operators of large instances start blocking them. Lemmy instances are identified by their full domain, including subdomains, but if it became a common abuse/spam vector then there’s no guarantees.
