I’ve been away for a while due to a strenuous and stressful move. I’m a bit more settled now in a new city where I don’t know anyone or anything, hoping for a fresh start and a fruitful direction. Although it’s quite lonely at the start.

Hey mate, I know what it’s like having reactionary family, it’s hard, heartbreaking, and disappointing. There’s no guarantee that you can change them, and at the end of the day it’s their decision and opinion, all you can do is show them your evidence, and whether they take it or not it’s entirely up to them.
That being said, there’s something of a mismatch in your brother’s supposed viewing habits that I think you can use as a starting point. Badempanada actually did a very good piece on GDF, and how his content is deliberately presented to misrepresent the relationship between Israel, Judaism, and the US Empire in order to fuel his largely anti-Semitic audience. You could perhaps use that as a starting point to talk about the many contradictions in your brother’s logic and help him understand where he’s being misled.
I’ll link them here

Europe’s economic and military punishment against people in the global south simply causes those same troubles to come back home to roost.
European Islamophobia is merely the people of Europe deciding to get mad at the boomerang, rather than their governments and ruling class who threw it in the first place.
I don’t get why you’re being downvoted so much, you’re right. I see so much hype around this past week from (what I assume) to be mostly western users on this space and others, where they fall into the trap of repeated memes and mutual jerkoff sessions about what is frankly a niche, US centric set of events, which I would expect to be either ignored and moved on with after a couple of days, or used as a means of generating meaningful agitprop. However the majority of the stuff being parroted around here is not that different from what shitlib US liberals have been posting in regards to the same topic, so I see no point at all in us here joining in with them to pile on and parrot what is very obviously an artificially inflated media story to distract people from shit that may actually matter to them.
I don’t like how we have what is essentially a massive influx of newly active users who’s entire outlook at the moment seems to be their position on that one topic, although I can somewhat forgive them for it since it’s what may have gotten them banned from other places and led them here. But for those of us who know how this shit goes, why are we also getting bogged down?

Damn shame about the fucking Carrefour sponsorship. Ruines the shot.

Wtf is actually happening here? Have any credible journalists / experts weighed in?

These are not real governments, some of these are hardly even real countries. Made up island statelets with a population of 50 somehow having a vote of equal strength to that of Brazil has always made the UN a ridiculous institution.

Interestingly enough, a previous iteration of this exact kind of legislation was floated earlier this year, and Charlie Kirk of all people was among those who spoke out against it. Now, this is once again brought up, interesting timing.

Being an enemy of the US is dangerous, being it’s ally is most certainly fatal.

I’m wondering if it merits a megathread, but honestly, I think the old saying should be applied here:
The opposite of love is indifference

Soon he will languish in the Lulag

Yeah, exactly how I felt. I was thinking “damn, Israel just bombed Qatar, I’d like to see what Lemmygrad thinks”, and it’s the same meme 50 times over.
I don’t even think the Luigi incident got this much when it happened, and imo that was actually more worthy of being memed since it was in a way actually useful as agitprop.

I know we have a lot of Statseian comrades on here, especially now after the deprogram sub ban, and this might be controversial to say, considering the state of the place over the past day or so, but I really don’t care about Charlie Kirk enough to see how it warrants this much meme posting when there is so much other concerning shit going on at the moment.
It makes me wonder if there is a concentrated effort by the powers that be to latch onto this story and push it to the forefront of western discussion to distract from something actually important, like Poland potentially triggering war with Russia, or the fact that the civilian aid flotilla to Gaza has been getting relentlessly firebombed, or that theres a color revolution in Nepal underway right this moment.
I was hoping to find some discussions on these things from a socialist standpoint, but it’s wall to wall kirkposting so far. idk, seems fishy.

Trump just truthed that he’s passed, Rip.

That only goes to show how bad it’s getting when they’re the ones reporting on this.

We should be bigger then laughing at children, come now. Poor guy is going to be cringing out of his mind when he remembers posting this in 10 years time.
I understand your point and I accept that there is a curiosity to understand how such a place would have worked, in the sense of such limited space human habitation.
But come on, you can’t compare it to the literal Pyramids, they are tombs, in the middle of the desert, not a sprawling block in the middle of a city that people actually needed to live in. The primary purpose matters.
For Kowloon, Were it possible at the time, perhaps exhaustive 3D scans of the building layouts and constructions before they demolished it could have been a valuable and interesting preservation of data to study later, but alas.
Thank you comrade
