After 4 years living in the imperial core, due to personal reasons, I was unable to renew my visa, and now I’ve been sent back to my global south home country.

Have to build a new life for myself here but its tough to get over something like that.

Jesus, that’s terrible. We just gave 8 months refuge to a Columbian illegal who turned out to be the most Americanized narcissistic gusano in the world imaginable, you could have had our couch in his place in a heartbeat. (I understand this is far too late to suggest, but I hope if anyone else is reading in a similar situation that they can try Lemmygrad for help).

Is there any way to regain visa and essentially pick up where you left off?

let me guess: an “uribista” who thinks that petro is gonna ruin the economy with the help of “narco-castro-chavism” even when he ran away from his country because of neoliberal hellish politics of uribismo and their known links with drug kingpins

No, I’ve tried everything I reasonably could have tried, but there’s no way I can return for the foreseeable future due to financial concerns, safest bet is to tough it out and try and regain some level of stable life where I am.

Sorry to hear that comrade. That sounds like serious setback. I hope you are able to recover from it and get your life on track. It is difficult but doable.

Yeah, years of work trying to build a life and it all just vanishes in a few days. They got my labor, my money, and now I’m tossed out.

No , sorry, I can’t speak Spanish. But I am hoping for new opportunities at home, I’ve got some decent work lined up and I’m going to try and start over.

But I left with a grudge that I’ll probably carry for the rest of my life. I was radical before but now I will never have sympathy for those privileged liberal morons that shit all over the rest of us.

That is terrible news comrade. I know there’s little I can say to help in a moment like this, but I hope everything ends up going your way.

This might also be a long shot, but would it be possible to apply for visas to other countries? Just thinking, as a four year visa stint without any major problems would look decently attractive on applications, and you might get lucky with another nation, that may even have been near or better then where you were originally. Plus it would give you something to work towards and allow you to plan out the coming weeks and months. But again, best of luck to you comrade!

Thanks comrade, I’m definitely going to be weighing my options, maybe after saving up for a little while I’ll put myself out there again and maybe find an even better nation to live in. But if anything this sort of thing really puts into perspective how tough it can be to actually make it in the imperial core when you don’t have the same privileges.
