  • Apple hardware had always been decent, but I don’t understand the point of macos. If you can work entirely in the browser, than why waste the money on apple? Just grab a chrome book.

If your job requires software, macos is trash. Basic functions like window snapping are still missing. Gaming is non existent. Obscene memory requirements with nothing under 32gb usable for any real work.

I’ve been daily driving Linux for decades and occasionally use Windows, but any time I’m forced to use macos I’m just really confused why people would do that to themselves and then pay 3x the price for decent hardware.

  • Some of this is personal preference, but I thought they were absolute trash. I basically got them for free after credits when I picked up my new pixel and I ended up returning them anyway and spending credits on random accessories. They do not sit well in my ears, I hated the weird noise cancelation that actually makes you disoriented without really canceling noise and the sound is poorly calibrated no matter what I tried listening to.

I just picked up SoundCore Liberty 4 Pros for $100 and they check every box. So comfortable I forget I have them in my ears. Noise cancelation is superb. Tested in data center and on airplane. Sound quality is subjective, but I love it. New charging case shows battery level for each side and allows adjusting NC level without having to use the app.

  • Sure, but you’re comparing apples to oranges. If you personally play older or not gpu intensive games at medium settings, then you can absolutely buy a gpu once every 7-10 years and not be affected by any scalpers. NES emulators are pretty cheap right now :-) You can also get an Intel GPU for under MSRP.

Obviously a hyperbole, but PC gamers looking for latest and greatest were affected much worse than console gamers wanting the latest stuff.

Just the crypto hype alone made it nearly impossible to get a decent gpu for years.
