When I lived in Vegas my apartment complex would regularly drop blocks of ice in the pool in the summer. Surely we can scale that shit up for the oceans, right? …Right?

I fully expect the defense to be, “Well, we can’t discriminate based on the applicant’s race, sex, religion, etc… but the constitution doesn’t say anything about discrimination based on legacy status.”
This just sounds like too much work to me. I mean to each their own, so rock in if that’s what works for you. I just know I’d end up forgetting which account I was subbed into, and within the course of 1-2 months my communities would be a mashed up mess.
Better than their arms, though, right?
Well, see, nazis hate Jews (and people of color, and leftists, and…), and LGBT people, uh, well, you see, they uh… anyway you can’t block one and not block the other. See what I mean?
/s. Also, fuck off nazi punks.
…the Beehaw users seem to be generally happy with the change.
Maybe? I honestly don’t know, but it seems like it would be hard for them to tell…? If I understand things correctly, Beehaw defederates (what a word…) and now no one sees posts / communities from, say, sh.itjust.works, right? So no one really knows what they’re missing if they’re on Beehaw? Please correct me if I’m wrong, as that could easily be the case.
I did not have your experience, but I can relate to the sense that the pandemic brought about some really nice changes for me and my family and, while I would certainly never wish another pandemic on society, I can’t look back at 2020-2021 and say I didn’t enjoy it. More time with the family, more time with neighborhood friends (regular socially distanced evening gatherings around 2-3 fire pits), more flexibility at work (COVID remote turned into full time remote, permanently), more time outdoors… anyway, I do feel guilty (maybe that’s not the right word) about it, and it’s not a sentiment I express often, but I truly like where my life is today vs 2019, and I wouldn’t be here now were it not for the pandemic.
Hey sexy! Hit me up if you want to chat with available singles in your area tonight! Don’t worry - it’s discreet!
Fuck the s*n.
Were they fully aware, though? Sure the ceo was, but if I buy a trip on an airplane I assume the proper maintenance has been carried out. I know it’s not exactly the same, but there’s no way everyone on that sub had the knowledge or expertise to fully know just how not safe the experience really was.
I just hope OP doesn’t break both arms while they’re out doing… whatever it is they’re going to be doing.
Started on lemmy. Haven’t gotten annoyed yet and can’t currently be bothered to try yet another new thing.
I go by new. Obviously the content level here is not Reddit-esque yet, so it’s still remarkably manageable to do this way. At some point, I imagine (hope?) needing to shift to “hot” or “active,” but that time hasn’t come for me, yet.
Stand naked outside the window and knock.
Or, just put a letter in the mailbox or on the front porch.
Well I, for one, am shocked to learn of this.

Also, is “/s” a thing here?
Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks.
Where / how can you see a list of who is (de)federated with whom?
I’m not that guy (the one you asked to reply…), but I will say this as a lover of the first two games - play them. They are remarkable games and 20ish years after coming out I still play them (and do so regularly). If you’re a younger gamer you may find the interface or the graphics a bit clunky, but really, you ought to give them a go.
From my time on the Baldurs Gate subreddit, it seems like 3 was less story connected (per others’ comments), but that was before some of the added characters were announced (e.g. Minsc). That said, I haven’t played 3 at all, so I can’t comment personally.
tl;dr: I don’t know if you’ll be missing out in the story by starting with 3, but you should definitely play 1 & 2 because they’re incredible games.
