  • Brothers: a tale of two sons

You play two characters at the same time. The left half of the controler for one brother, the right for the other. Many (not so) special abilities can only be done by one brother and the corresponding button is on that side of the controller. Its a short game that can only truly be experienced once so beware the spoiler!

    Tap for spoiler

At some point the older brother dies. You now only use half the controller until the surviving brother overcomes his fear of swimming, which was an ability of the (now) dead brother. Just standing in front of the water and realising that I have to use the dead-brother-controlls to control the alive brother was mind blowing. Its also really emotional to a point that would not be possible without that twist. Using a button that was assigned to the dead brother just elevates the feeling of growth of the alive younger brother

  • OPs assumption is: “there are infinite guests, so at any point someone will be checking out at that exact moment.”

Under the information given by the problem, making that assumption is wrong. In fact, assuming any of the guests will ever check out is already wrong. The problem never makes any mention if checkout at all. All guests checking out a millisecond after checking is just as likely of a scenario as them never checking out until the death if the universe.

  • Those would all also a problem in the original and are never relevant. For the bus with infinite guests, every current guest has to move. So some of the now vacant rooms are infinitely far away and also none of them are ever prepared by staff etc.

The problem with OPs take is the wrong assumption that a room will be ensured to become available.

  • No. What about: “All guests are here for the festival. Nobody is going to check out before that.”

Your “infinite guests” -> “infinite different itineraries, including one where somebody checks out right this second” is the same wronh assumption as the “infinite universes”->“there must exists a universe where x…”.

Just because there are infinite rational numbers between 1 and 2, does not mean any of them is 3.

You can have infinite guests and nobody checking out for an infinite amount if time.

  • The “test” is so vague we had machines pass I many years before the current LLM AIs. But it is also always limited by the scope of the AI. Can you play a game of chess against a chessbot, where after the game you are unable to tell if it was a bot or a human? Can you chat with an LLM and think it is a human? Can you chat with a chessbot and think it is human. Can you have a face to face dinner at a restaurant with an LLM and think it is a human? Can you have a LLM drive a car and think it is human?

AI are able to fool us in their specific area of expertise but so far never in all areas at once.

  • That is just factually incorrect. Many plants produce the exact molecules or proteins that are used as hormones in humans. Hormones do much much more than influence breast size. In fact most hormones are completely unrelated to gender and sex. Ever felt stressed? Hormones. Ever felt hungry? Hormones. Actually … ever felt anything at all? Hormones. And plants do the same. They also feel stressed and they use some of the same hormones in the process.
