Dude, imagine my surprise when I pop up a random video I’m interested in and see that urban pop Earthworm Jim in the background. Glad to see we both ended up in the same refuge.

The only thing I can tell you is that if you get a keyboard with a bad membrane, it CAN be fixed but it’s a huge pain in the ass since you need to replace all the little plastic tabs on the chassis with tiny bolts.
I have both an OG model M and a unicomp model M mini. They both feel great and seem to have zero issues. My first model M was a 1987 and I used a string of pigtail adapters to get it from AT to USB and while it didn’t start working until my OS started booting, it was my favorite of all time. It got lost after we went work from home during COVID and they had a moving company pack our desks up. There is not a day I don’t miss that keyboard.
With all that said, I don’t have any experience with the rp2040 controlled unicomps. If you can get an actual model M on the cheap, I say go with that. If not, unicomps are a fine product in my experience.
My photon plate is looking a bit jank. My M3 plate still looks lovely though.
Can we get a link? I’m interested in this.
That Andy Anderson deck looks DOPE!
As someone who’s family is from Alabama, I hard agree with your grandma. Where was she from? And can I steal her line?
Cool, I stopped being lazy and looked up the DVB standards. TIL: a bit about digital broadcast transport methods.
Thanks, I know very little about how DVB works but that makes sense. What is the limitations for DVB-S/C ?
Can you use something like a rtl-sdr for its original intended purpose of decoding digital tv?
What are tha advantages of this over set -o vi?
Let me offer a different direction. FreeBSD has been around since the mid 90’s. Is damn featureful. Has a wonderful package management system. Full disclosure, I use Linux on my personal machines but FreeBSD is my server install of choice.
Caldera, followed by redhat followed by Slackware which I stayed on for quite a while.
The Georgia “find me the votes” case is coming up and it’s been highly speculated that Smith has a N.Y. case for the files kept at his club in Bedminster.
Everyone keeps talking about the fact that he may pardon himself. That is very likely true but let’s not forget the fact that anyone else who is elected can pardon him without raising the same constitutional crisis. He could also be elected, resign and be pardoned by his former VP (I find it doubtful he would go this route). None of these will affect charges on the state level, however.
Is it og hardware or running some emulator inside? Either way it looks DOPE!
OS/2 was poised to be a really awesome operating system. Bad decisions and poor marketing really eff’ed that up. We could have had a full GUI, multi-user OS for consumers like 10 good years earlier than we did and it likely would have curbed Microsoft’s monopoly.
I recently copied ~1.6T from my old file server to my new one. I think that may be my largest non-work related transfer.
